In a disorderly kingdom, a tyrant rules over the helpless people. He takes and takes day after day without giving in return. What he fails to realize, however, is that his daughter is the only thing between his grimy hands and those same hands removing the brick under the last leg of the table. She is the one that visits the villages at night, dropping baskets of sustenance and materials on doorsteps. The townspeople have come to appreciate her and acknowledge that she is unlike her father, for he has never been near the level of benevolence as she and never shall. They have rallied behind her in the past years, hanging onto promises of uprisings and a future where she is queen.
It's time for that future to be executed.
"Father, the citizens seem agitated." The princess calmly states.
"Oh, please! They should be bloody grateful for what I've done fort'hem. Ain't nothin' I done wrong!" The pig of a king retaliates.
"Are you really that blind?" The princess snaps. "Can you not see that your tyranny has caused destruction to reign on this kingdom?
"The mouth on ye! Guards, get this heretic out of my sight immediately!"
The guards look at one another but make no movement to arrest the princess. Perhaps they too have sided with her in hopes of freeing their homes from the king's wrath. When the king receives no response, his face pales.
"Y-you! I'll 'ave the both of you thrown in the dungeon! I'll do it myself!" When the king makes a move to grab hold of the princess, the guards draw their swords and rush at him, causing him to back away in fear.
"Face it, father. Your days are over. I'll be the one to save this kingdom." She turns to the guards and curtsies before walking past her father and onto the balcony. The two men made sure to restrain him properly lest he attempt to harm her in any way.
As she addressed the citizens, their looks turning from hatred to admiration, she accomplished something her father never could. She fixed the kingdom he sought to destroy, restoring the peace and order that had been absent in recent years. The people cheered her on after her speech, erupting in a chant.
"Long live the queen! Long live the queen! Long live the queen!"
She smiles high above the crowd in victory. Not only did she save the day...
She saved the future of a kingdom.
