"Yeah.. But are you? 'Cause I gotta know whether or not to try to get you a date." X continues, trying to bribe the information out of me.
"I don't know.. I'm going to give up on him, for now. Besides, like you said." I crack a grin. "I don't want to let my love life end with him." I quote.
"Wait, excuse me for interrupting, but what is this about?" Grillby interjects, slight panic in his fiery pupils.
"Um.." I stutter.
"So basically, (Y/N) likes a dude, and he either doesn't like her, or doesn't have the testicles to ask her the fuck out. So I've encouraged her to date a bit, see who else is out there, ya know? Better than sitting around and rotting because of some jackass who's failed to see how great she is." X quickly explains, glancing at me. I blush, nodding at the ground.
"Hmm.. And who may the person be?" Grillby asks, raising his voice for some reason. The doorknob twitches again.
"Sa-" X starts.
"No one." I quickly interject, shooting him a glare. We silently exchange looks, his eyes mischievous.
"He's a dude that's kinda like (Y/N), but more asshole-ey. He's also got, like an issue, seeing as every girl who's told him she likes him he's just ghosted. One of the reasons why I encouraged (Y/N) to move on." X shrugs, leaning on the counter.
"Wait, what?" I ask, confused. I turn to X, who shifts uncomfortably in his seat.
"Yeahhh.. He rejected Undyne's cousin, Vulkin, and a dude from Snowdin. One for every area, I guess." X chuckles darkly.
"Hmm.. Yeah, with that track record, he definitely doesn't like me." I comment, dejected. Unless he's looking for someone who remembers the resets.. No, I mentally scold myself. He rejected all those people before the resets even began.
"Maybe, maybe not.. Still, though! We gotta get you with someone else to see if the dude gets jealous, and to see if you really like him." X protests, trying to lift my mood. I force a grin on my face to humour him. Grillby shifts, glancing back at the door.
"Well, perhaps that guy has reason for rejecting those people." The flame elemental reasons.
"He's probably waiting for someone perfect." I sigh, looking down. "He's definitely too good for me.."
"Nah, if anything, you're too good for him. Like, really. To me, the only thing even halfway attractive 'bout him is his protectiveness, and the way he could match my bitchy attitude with his own. Other than that, he's, like, the least attractive dude ever." X overdramatizes his voice, trying to add sarcasm between the lines.
"That's not true.. Like, really, really, not true.. I-" I start.
"Quit!" X states, grinning. "You're going to chug your beers, forget that asshole, and get a boyfriend!" He cheers, smiling at me. His makeup smudges slightly, the red and the orange mixing.
"I guess.. Yeah! I'm going to-" I start.
"Wait!" Grillby interrupts. "Perhaps you should give him a chance." He stutters, his gaze still on the door.
"She already has, dude." X rolls his eyes. "And besides, it's not like she's ghosting him or anything. She's just taking a break." He reasons, defending my decision. I stare at the door, its position shifting almost as if someone's leaning against it.
"Well, if you're sure.." Grillby hesitantly says, handing us our order. "It's on the house. Sounds like you've already had a rough day. Business will pick up around 6 or 7." He offers, pulling his phone out again.
