"'Ight. So." X grabs our food, handing me the burger and beers. I take a small bite, my appetite almost nonexistent. While eating, I ponder the events of today. Everything went down a steep decline within a few minutes, leaving me in a daze.

I put the burger down, opening the beer. While I dislike the idea of using alcohol to cope with the distress, it seems like the best option. I quickly drink a quarter of it, the liquid almost stinging as it slides down my throat. I swallow, wiping my mouth with my sleeve.

"Do you want to get drunk, tipsy, or stay sober?" X asks, swirling around the sparkling water Grillby gave him.

"Tipsy." I say, taking another swig of beer.

"Right.. So just drink, like, one of the beers, and I'll have the other." X instructs, grabbing the can of alcohol.

"Didn't you say you wanted to stay sober?" I question, taking a bite of my burger.

"Eh, if you're just gonna be tipsy, you won't need someone to shepherd you around." He shrugs, popping open the can. I accept the answer, chugging the rest of the beer. Much to my dismay, my sobriety remains.

I glance back at the door. Grillby meets my eyes, and I look away. He  uickly runs into the fire exit. I catch a glimpse of blue before the door slams shut.

"I'm still, like, 97% sure he's hiding a hookup in there." X comments, smirking. He chugs half of his beer, leaning back in his seat. I chuckle, grinning.

"Guess you could say that he's got a lot at steak." I joke.

"What?" X asks, sarcastically confused.

"It's.. Um.. Steak, stake, since he's a barte- Never mind." I say quickly, slightly disappointed.

"Oh. I get it. Nice." X comments, smiling. He chugs the rest of the beer, reaching for mine. His face visibly falls when he sees that it's empty.

"So.. What now?" I blandly ask, my face fairly emotionless.

"I.. Um.. I'd wait." X's voice is slightly slurred. He grins, leaning back in his seat. "Y'know, that Grillby dude seemed pretty attractive."

"So I guess you think he's hot?" I joke, grinning.

"Yeah.. D'you know if he's into guys?" X asks, chuckling slightly at my pun.

"No, I've never really asked." I answer, thinking.

"Hmm.. I'll have to check." X ponders. "I mean, straight off the bat, he doesn't really seem gay.. But not all gay dudes are the same."

"How old do you think he is?" I ask.

"Uh, I dunno. Late 20s, early 30s, maybe?" X answers, shaking the empty beer can.

"And how old are you?" I quiz.

"24." X answers. Technically 26, I mentally note.

"Hmm. Not much of an age difference, then." I note, summoning a flame into my hand. I play around with it, adding some cyan. The colours swirl together, creating an interesting visual effect.

I think about Sans. Perhaps I'm overreacting.. But even if I am, X does have a point. If Sans doesn't like me, I should move on.

Without warning, a dark blue gets added into the fiery display, the colour similar to that of Sans' magic. I quickly extinguish my hand, shoving it into the pocket of my jacket. The fabric is unfamiliar, making me feel partially exposed.

"That was cool." X points out. "What was that?"

"Oh, just.." I stutter. I look down. "I was just playing with my magic."

"Cool!" X exclaims, trying to raise my spirits. "I can do that too." He shifts his arm into a paw, grinning.

"Nice." I say, forcing a small smile on my face.

"Yeah. I get a lot of hookups 'cause of it. Good for fetishes." He cracks a smirk, changing his hand into an obscure organ. I look away, laughing.

"Interesting." I comment, a grin still on my face.

"So." X sighs, leaning back in his chair. He reassembles his hand, dangling it off the side of his seat.

"Do you want to go.. I dunno, somewhere else?" I ask, bored.

"Whoah, dude." X smirks. "I'm gay, remember?"

"No, like.." I chuckle. "Like, over to the 'Librarby'."

"You mean library?" X states, correcting me.

"No, 'Librarby'. The sign is spelled wrong for some reason." I correct, chewing on the inside of my cheek.

"Um.. Is there anywhere else?" He asks, scrunching up the empty beer can in his right hand. I think of the lake behind my house where Sans and I first became 'acquaintances'.

"No, not really." I lie, shifting in my seat. "Unless you want to take a walk in the woods."

"Oh, no, honey." He smirks, posing. "I ain't getting this outfit all dirty- I'm saving that for tonight."

"Kay.. So the 'Librarby'?" I ask, bringing back the conversation.

"Well.." He checks his phone, its design oddly similar to mine. "It's, like, 5:30, so how 'bout we just wait. Who knows, maybe a hot dude will come in early. Then I'll get him all to myself." He smirks.

"Yeah, maybe." I nod in agreeance, not willing to argue my point.

"Then again," X grins, raising his voice. "Maybe we should give Grillby's hookup a chance to get out of here!" He shouts. The doorknob twitches, and a hushed voice murmurs something inaudible.

"You're probably scaring the poor person!" I laugh, shooting a pointed glance at the door. The door creaks slightly, and X and I both flinch.

"Ok, why the fuck are we scared of a door?" He deadpans, fighting to keep his voice steady. I look at him, and we both burst out laughing.

"It's just human nature to be afraid of the unknown." I answer jokingly.

"We-" X starts. Without warning, a flash of blue resonates through the room, the crack under the door lighting up. X and I glance at each other, than back at the door. The blue stops, leaving nothing but shock as a trace of its existence.

"Ok, um.." I say, slightly confused.

"Grillby be going after the dangerous ones!" X jokes. I chuckle slightly. That blue kind of looked like Sans' magic. Suddenly, the door swings open.

"There's a dude!" X says, looking at the door. His face visibly shifts. I glance at the new arrival, immediately looking away.

"Hey." Sans swiftly remarks, grinning sheepishly.

"Dude. You're Grillby's hookup?" X says, partial disgust in his voice. "I didn't think he would stoop that low."
