Despite the title, I really tried hard on this one. Just for you, lovely OattyTrees! Hope you enjoy ♡♡
Also uhmm. The reader had a child, so I'll be leaning toward female pronouns in this one, just fyi. ^^;;

Papyrus walked through the store, occasionally putting his foot on the back of his shopping cart and riding across the aisles. He was delighted, smiling sweetly while picking out all sorts of ingredients for new recipes to try.

"DUM-DE-DUM, LA-DE-DA~!" He sung to himself.

He glanced down at his shopping list, handwritten by you. The simple details and specific curve of your penmanship made him feel as though he was floating on a cloud. He checked off each item as he gathered them, greeting employees and fellow passerbys.

Papyrus pretended he was on a heroic quest, gathering the nesscesary supplies for the survival of his family. As a new father, he felt a wonderful new responsibility he never thought he craved. Though raising a child had it's own set of challenges, it was immensely gratifying when the kid was happy. Seeing the way they smiled after a wave of tears left Papyrus in a state of pure bliss.

He remembered the day the child was born, leaving the hospital as an adorable bundle of joy. You were exhausted, your eyelids heavy and drowsy grin drooping. On the drive home, the baby cooed in your arms as you dozed off.

Papyrus fumbled with his flip phone at the wheel, taking a blurry picture and making it his screensaver. Every time you would use his phone, you couldn't help but cringe at the overwhelming low quality.

He continued to sail through the aisles, reflecting on copious old memories.

The baby's first Birthday was a surprise party, organized and hosted by Undyne. You, Papyrus, and the baby came home from a quaint stroll around the block. As soon as you flicked the lights on inside your house, friends and family members poured from every corner.

"SURPRISE!!!" Of course, your baby was terrified, becoming a sobbing mess almost immediately.

Undyne felt awful, but was easily cheered up when you expressed how much you appreciated the sentiment. She had gotten the baby lots of nice gifts, which easily made up for it.

Your child was nearing two years now, and was starting to form simple sentences. This moment may have been his favorite, and he recalled it vividly...

Papyrus was making dinner, listening to the chime of Disney Pixar films playing in the other room. You sat on the couch with the baby in your lap, watching the movies intently. Your baby stared in awe at the animated characters on screen, making you giggle.

"Oh no!" You would say at conflict, as well as "Hooray!" in a moment of triumph. The baby made facial expressions and tiny squeaks in reply.

"Honey," You called to Papyrus. "I think the baby's catching your extrovert~"

"WELL, THAT'S GOOD, THEN!" He responded with a hint of embarrassment, "THEY'RE ON THE PATH TO GROW UP TO BE AS GREAT AS ME!!"

There was a short pause, and flustered, he slipped in, "Of course, they will grow up magnificent, no matter whose traits they pick up...!"

"I'm sure they will," You smiled, poking the child playfully in the belly. Their baby fat was plentiful to a healthy amount, which made the two of you very happy. As parents with little to no experience, it was satisfying to see your kid growing at a strong rate.

"Can you say 'daddy', pudding?" The baby turned to you with mild curiosity. "Go on, say 'daddy'." You urged.

They watched as your mouth formed the word, staring at it in a daze. You mouthed it slowly and repeatedly. The baby sputtered, placing a chubby fist on your lip.

"Hey...!" You laughed, tickling them lightly.

"Dahdeee." The baby murmured, chopping the word with unnecessary syllables. Despite, you shot up from the couch.

"What was that, sweetpea?? Say it again, cupcake, say 'daddy'."

The baby said it again, more confidently this time. You screamed happily. "OH MY GOD PAPYRUS DID YOU HEAR THAT!!"

He appeared in the doorway, looking baffled. "HEAR WHAT?? WHAT'S GOT YOU SO GIDDY ALL OF A SUDDEN??"

You set the baby back down at the couch, feverishly motioning toward your husband. The baby giggled. "Daddy!"

Papyrus's jaw dropped, skull flushing with excitement. "DADDY!! YES, THAT'S RIGHT, I'M DADDY!!! NYEHEHEH!!"

You ran into his arms, and he picked you up graciously, spinning you around like you were as light as a ragdoll. The baby clapped and chirped, sensing the evident thrill.

Papyrus remembered baking a cake that night to celebrate the baby's first word. He couldn't help but feel a little bad that the word was centered around himself, though, rather than you. It didn't seem fair; you did just as much work with the baby as he did! If only their first word could have been 'daddy' and 'mommy'...

That's when the idea hit him, right in the head. A pang of shock, a jolt of delight. He zoomed through the checkout, shoving the groceries into the car, driving speedily (yet safely) home.

You were feeding the baby, applauding them each time they chewed and swallowed. "Hi, sweetie." You sung as soon as he entered, to which he threw his coat and took your shoulders.

"Wh-whoa, what--"

"GORGEOUS, WE MUST HAVE ANOTHER CHILD."

Your face practically sizzled from heating up so rapidly. "H-huh-!?"
