Everything about this was dangerous. You were a Stark and he was a Lannister. And not just any Lannister; he was Jaime Lannister. It started out as a one time thing, no big deal. But when you traveled to King's Landing with your father and sisters, it became much more- you were both in love. You were standing in the Gallery beside your younger sister, Sansa, waiting for the announcement from Tywin Lannister himself. You pulled at your dress and Sansa gave you a look. "Don't do that, Leanne. You'll stretch it out or worse, you'll tear it." You huffed and stopped playing with it. "These dresses are the most uncomfortable things I've ever had to wear. And it's so bloody hot down here." Sansa have a small smile but stopped when she saw Jaime Lannister making his way towards you. You noticed her change in expression and turned to see what she was looking at; you tried your best to keep your face emotionless. "Lady Stark, Lady Stark." He said before bowing. "Ser Jaime. A pleasant surprise." You said before running your eyes over his armor and down to his golden hand before back up to his face. "I simply wanted to see the two of you were here for the announcement." "We wouldn't miss it for the world." You responded and Jaime smirked a bit. "Indeed. Well then, I'll leave the two of you." He said before walking away. You could feel eyes on you so you turned and saw Cersi glaring at you. "He's going to make it too obvious." Sansa said and you looked at her. "He won't listen to me. I keep trying to tell him that." The doors opened and in walked Tywin Lannister; he made his way to the throne where he bowed to Joffrey, climbed the steps, and turned to face the crowd. "My King, I thank you for allowing me to make this announcement today. Ser Jaime, step forward." He stepped forward. "The High Council has decided it is for the good of the realm that you step down as Lord Commander of the King's  Guard. Instead, you will be marrying Alaria Tyrell and further strengthen the ties between our two great houses." You were shocked. Sansa gripped your hand but you hardly registered her touch. Jaime stood there gaping like a fish but he had to choice but to remove his armor; his father had done this publicly so Jaime wouldn't be able to argue. His eyes briefly met yours but you felt sick. "Sansa, I'm going to be sick." You said and she quickly rushed you out of the room. You both rushed to your room, where you barely made it to the restroom. Sansa held your hair back and helped you put to the balcony to get fresh air; she noticed you were flushed and that your dresses were tighter than usual. "Leanne, are you alright?" You picked up a fan and tried your best to cool down. "No. I'm livid. Beyond livid actually." "When was the last time you bled?" You looked at your sister in shock. "Sansa, I hardly think-" "Answer the question." You stared at her for a few more moments. "A few moons, maybe. I figured it was just my body not being able to adjust to the climate." You froze. "You don't think..." You looked down at your stomach and frowned. "Curse the Gods for terrible timing." You grumbled. "You have to tell him." "Yes sweet sister, I know. But if I see his face right now, I'm not sure I'll be able to control my anger." The door knocked before opening. "Speak of the devil." You said as Jaime walked in. "I'll leave the two of you to speak." Sansa said before leaving the room. "I didn't know." "You didn't fight it either." He walked to you. "What was I supposed to do? Expose our relationship right then and there?" You frowned and rubbed your temples; a headache was beginning to form. "Jaime, I really don't feel well enough to argue right now." He looked at you and noticed you were pale. He grabbed a cup of water for you which you drank in one gulp. "Leanne, are you al-" "Jaime, I'm pregnant." His eyes grew. "What?" You looked at him. "You heard me." He kneeled down before you and placed his left hand on your stomach. "I'm going to be a father." He whispered; you placed your hand on top of his and watched as he processed what this means. He stood up and pulled you up with him. "Leanne, I swear to the Gods that I will be here for you and our child. I don't care about that blasted marriage to the Tyrell girl; you are the only woman that I truly love, and I will do everything to protect you. Both of you." You smiled and hugged him, but the wheels in your mind were already turning; as much as it would pain you, you had to leave him in order to protect him and the child.

Ever since you told him, Jaime has been overprotective. He's always watching you, never leaving you out of his sight for too long, and he would hold you closer at night. You sighed as you closed the book in your hands and placed it on the table. You were starting to show so your dresses had to be less fitting to hide the bump. And to top it all off, you were the last Stark in King's Landing; your sister vanished during Joffrey's wedding turned murder. Cersi has had a target on your back since then, saying that you conspired with Tyrion and your sister to kill him but there was nothing to prove it. You heard a knock on the door and prayed to the Gods it wasn't Jaime. "Come in." You turned and saw that it was Varys. You stood up and gave a small curtsy. "Lord Varys. This is certainly a surprise." He gave you a small smile. "Please sit, Lady Leanne. I don't want you to strain yourself." He was one of the few people you trusted in this place; the two of you took a seat. "What do I owe the pleasure?" "I'm here to offer you a way out." You places your hand on your stomach. "Not like that, my lady. I mean I can help you leave this dreadful place." Your heart skipped a bit at the thought. "When?" "Tomorrow night. Meet me in the gardens after the sun has set and I will take you to Meeren." "Why are you helping me?" He gave you a sad smile. "Because I can tell how upset you are here. I know you love Jaime, truly love him, and he loves you. But he is promised to another, you are pregnant with his child, and you are a lone wolf in a lion's den." You fiddled with the ring on your finger, a gift from Jaime. "Alright. I will." He smiled and the two of you stood up. "Thank you, Lord Varys." "Don't thank me yet. We have to make it to Meeren first." He bowed before leaving.

That night, you were laying in bed, Jaime's arm draped over your waist and his hand rested protectively on your stomach. "What's wrong my love?" He said softly and planted a kiss on your shoulder. "Just thinking." "About?" "Everything." He sighed and placed a few more kisses along your neck. "You're going to stress yourself out." "What's going to happen to us?" He sat up. "What?" You looked over. "After you've married the Tyrell girl, what will happen to me? I can't stay here or I'll be killed, I can't go with you, and I've lost my home in the North." He ran his fingers up and down your arm. "I won't marry the Tyrell girl." You scoffed. "Your father would never allow that." "I don't care what he thinks." You looked at him. "I don't. We could run away and start our family wherever we want, just as long as we're together." You felt tears form in your eyes and you wiped them away. "Shh, it's okay." He whispered and you kissed him. It was a gentle kiss but you could fell the passion and love behind it. He laid back down, pulling you close to him. You rested your head on his chest, savoring his touch for what could be the last time.
