"You know, he's going to continue until he loses interest," she added.

"That's what I was sort of hoping for?" you shrugged, "Although, it might take a little time..." You made a mental note to find some hiding spots on campus during lunch. The cafeteria wouldn't be the best place to be at when hiding from jocks like Dash. Being outside was also off the list. Dash was a football jock and you were sure playing outside was his domain. You were just going to settle with the library in the meantime until his interest diminishes.

"Hi," you jumped for the second time within the hour when the guy with rimmed glasses popped into your line of sight a little too close, "name's Tucker Foley but you can call me T.F. as in Too Fine. What's your name, beautiful?"

You could only stutter in bafflement as it was the third time you were hit on today. Your face distorted in disgust as he came closer to you. You pulled away at the same time as the raven hair boy yanked Tucker away by the back collar of his yellow top. He held a glare towards Tucker, but the boy with the red beret ignored it or couldn't careless as he continued to wiggle his eyebrows at you.

"Knock it off, Tuck," the boy in the white shirt said, "she's already got enough of that from Dash."

"You're just jealous," Tucker retorted back.

Before you could focus on their argument, another buzz from your phone rang this time with your sound on. The message was from your sister again asking where you were at. You guessed that she's been waiting for you for some time now. You texted her a quick reply stating you were on your way now before turning back at the group of mismatched friends.

"I'm sorry," you interrupted, "but I have to go. My sister is waiting for me to pick her up. Bye, Sam." Turning your heel, you didn't even bother to address Tucker as he looked appalled that you didn't greet him. He cried out to deaf ears as you ignored him and went to your car. They watched you walk to the driver side of your car as you quickly got in without looking back and driving off.

You sighed in relief when you turned onto the main road. Within a few minutes, you drove up to the drop off and pick up lane of your sister's school where Emily was talking to a few other girls. Emily saw that you pulled up and waved goodbye at the group as she walked away and got in the passenger seat. She buckled up as you pulled out to the main road again.

"How was school?" you asked out of curiosity. It seemed to be the most generic thing to ask but you wanted to be saved from the awkward silence.

Her posture slacked as she rolled her eyes and her head landed in her awaiting palms. A groan slipped out as she dragged the bottom of her eyes lids down showing the insides of them. "Why are girls so weird?" You gave her a questioning glance as you refocused on the road and from being distracted for a bit. She continued, "I mean, I was texting you to hurry up because those girls wouldn't leave me alone. I don't even remember their names, but they came up to me after I talked to a boy, who at the time I didn't realize was an eighth grader and one of the most popular boys in school. But it wasn't even me that talked to him first, he came up to me! I wasn't even interested, but he kept wanting to talk to me!"

If it wasn't for the familiar situation, you would have drown out the drama your sister was going through and end it with some drama-free advice, but you visibly cringed when she said the last part. You hoped there wasn't a pattern here where the girls come up to you after your run-ins with Dash today. Then again, with all the stares you got today, you wouldn't be surprised if that was the case for tomorrow. Emily continued ranting until you drove on the driveway of your unfinished home with paint gallons in the front yard ready to be used for the exterior of your house.

"Then, they start critiquing me on what I should wear instead of 'showing off.' What does that even mean! They're the ones who wants to show off their undeveloped breasts in tank tops I know their parents didn't allow to leave the house in!" she continued. You knew you had to stop her because her vocabulary was growing by the second. This usually happens when she gets either very passionate or angry about something. By the situation, you could obviously guess the latter. You blamed yourself for using her as a practice partner for when it comes to debate clubs. Her reading scores were above average for someone her age and continued to grow as she helped you in practicing your presentations. Moments like these are what makes you regret having your sister help you.

"Okay, Emily," you interrupted before she went on, "They're not the best kind of people to run into on the first day of school, but I'm sure it gets better. Have you met any other people?"

"Yeah," she sighed as you put your car in park and turning off your car, "I did manage to meet some pretty cool people. Randy and Howard are a little weird, but at least they treat me like human beings—unlike some other girls." During the conversation, she followed you into the house after unlocking the door and following you up to your room. Her eyebrow piqued in interest as you threw your bag on a freshly made desk you just put together yourself a couple days ago and collapsed on your bed with your stomach facing down. Emily came over and sat beside you as she said, "You look exhausted. How was your day?"

"I had two guys hit on me today; one who wouldn't leave me alone and the other was being uncomfortably weird," you answered vaguely. You would have gone more into detail if you weren't so mentally tired. "Which unfortunately I know both by name now." Your hand lazily waved slightly as it followed the octave of your voice.

"Were girls coming up to you too?" Emily asked in interest, trying to find some sympathy from her own experience.

You raised your head and faced her with an apologetic smile. Poor girl has to go through the drama of a middle school when it's double the amount compared to high school where some grow out of the need for some gossip in their lives. "No, at least not yet," you added.

"Then, what else happened?" she crossed her arms slightly that made her posture straighten a bit more making the piece of jewelry around her neck glint a bit from the angle of where you were facing her. The necklace only reminding you of what you also have and how it saved you from the ghost attack. You debated whether telling her about one of Amity Park's major issues or not. You could tell her about it, but she wouldn't believe you and probably think your grandfather was rubbing off on you. Worse case scenario, you knew Emily wouldn't speak a word about it to your parents and grandfather at least.

"Do you believe in ghosts?"
