CHAPTER 26

"Um, I think I need to leave." I said getting up to go.

"No wait, um, Jace told me about you and I saw your picture on his phone." Shock runs through me, how did he get Jaces' phone.

"Who are you and how do you know Jace?" He looked a cross between desperate and eager.

"I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Blake and I'm an old friend of Jace. We used to dat but that's like eons ago, I'm married see!!" He says rambling in a desperate attempt for me to listen to him and shows me the wedding band on his finger.

I don't know why but I felt at ease after he said that. It's not that I don't trust Jace but after everything that we've been through, I don't trust other people around Jace, and I know that sounds weird but that's how it is. And hearing that this guy was close enough to check his phone just rubs me the wrong way.

So I sat down willing to listen to him.

"Okay so what do you want? Not to be rude or anything but I don't know you and even if you know Jace he hasn't told me about you." He frowns at that but smiles again.

"Well he has told me a lot about you, and anyone with eyes can see how much he loves you from the way he talks." I smile.

"Well he better love me, we won't be getting married if he didn't." He chuckles.

"We met a few weeks ago since my husband is admitted here due to an accident."

"Oh , I'm sorry, is he doing well now?"

"Yeah, he is fine, but that is not why I decided to see you today. I met Jace a few weeks ago and we got to talking and he showed me your picture that's how I recognised you." He takes a breath and I wait for him to continue.

"We were just catching up and talking about our lives since we haven't seen eachother in ages. I told him about my husband and he told me about you and the fact that you had just given birth." He said that last part slowly, maybe he's afraid of my reaction. But I don't really mind people knowing I got pregnant, I feel proud even.

"Yes that's right. Is that what you wanna talk about?" He nods eagerly.

"My husband and I have wanted children for the longest time but we were turned down for adoption once before due to financial reasons. But now we're stable enough and we want to try again."

"But then I saw Jace and he told me that you carried children, I was too shocked to react normally that day. I don't want to be too intrusive its just that I've never heard of a pregnant man before."

"Oh well, it feels more normal to me now, at first it was weird but we learned to deal with it."

"That's really amazing, can I ask how it happened?" The questions were becoming a bit personal but I guess I have no problem answering this one, I just don't feel comfortable talking about it.

"Um I don't think I feel comfortable answering that though, besides I have to go now I think the kids are awake and hungry. And Jace would probably be there if you want to say hi." I say getting up, wondering if he will follow me. I don't wonder for long though since he gets up with me.

"Yeah, that's great. I'm sorry for being too forward, I just got a little excited."

"It's not a problem." Standing I realise that he's not as tall as I thought him to be, 5'8 at best.

I led him to my room where the babies were moved and when we got to the door, I heard noises coming from the room and smiled. The whole crew must be present.

"Looks like everyone is here." I said to Blake who was standing beside me. The minute I open the door, the noise becomes magnified. Luckily the babies were awake and part of the commotion.
