A week has passed in my boring little bleached room, the same everyday. The nurse feeding me oatmeal and Janet making dirty jokes about it.
I wonder what's for breakfast in the cafeteria today. Hopefully not oatmeal. With your luck, Tyler. It'll be an oatmeal buffet.
"Go fuck a dick, Janet."
Fine by me. Whore.
"Time for breakfast!" Nurse Sadie peeked through my door. Opening it wider for me to step through.
I got so used to the strangely scented room that I forgot what the 'outside world' looked like.
More bleached white walls.
Oh, joy. Nurse Sadie and I quietly walked to the cafeteria and got into the line for food. So many new faces I've never seen before filled the room, I barely recognized anyone from my last cafeteria visit."Toast or Oatmeal?" One of the volunteer cooks said.
I told you there'd be oatmeal.
"Shut it, oh um. Toast please." I said politely.
"One piece of toast for you." She sighed.
The cafeteria was just as scary as before. But this time, I'll be the one to sit at the 'loner's' table and introduce myself.
You'll never make any friends with that attitude.
"Fuck off. Let me be happy for once."I whispered, walking over to a table with a tallish, curly haired guy.
"Hi. May I sit here?" I smiled.
The man looked up at me and shrugged. His bright green eyes studied me as he scooted over so I could sit."My name is Tyler. Nice to meet you."
He's cute Tyler, you think you can hook me up?
"Hi Tyler." His deep voice rang softly from his lips. He poked and prodded at his oatmeal slowly. Hunched over in a depressed manner.
"What's your name?" I asked. Hoping for an answer, and not a punch.
He hates you already just give up.
"My name is Adam." He said flatly.
Adam. I like that name.
"Janet, fuck off I'm trying to make a friend."
You're screwed over now, aren't you? You just ruined your chances at making a friend. Something completely new to you. Seems like you'd at least get some beginners luck, right? I guess you're just not made to have friends.
I started to tear up, so I stood up and started to walk away.
"I'm sorry." I whispered, knowing he wouldn't hear me. But saying it just for my own satisfaction.
