Song is I Like It Loud by Cash Cash.
I'm finally updating this story again! My goal is to finish by the second week of August, when I will start college. I'll do my best to update as much as I can! Thank y'all for reading this story!
Iris's POV
I groaned, running my eyes as I woke up. It took me a second before I realized that for once I hadn't woken up to my mother's abuse.
Wait, where an I?" I thought. I heard movement to my right, and then heard what sounded like a bunch of recordings mashed together.
"Greeting: good morning, Iris," the voice said.I flopped back down on my bed. Right. Giant alien robots. Soundwave. I have new home now!
I smiled in the direction of the sounds."Good morning, Soundwave," I said. I heard him shift slightly again.
"Plan: I must continue my duties elsewhere. Lazerbeak: will look after you."
I heard what sounded like machines and gears moving. There was a slight, high pitched ringing in the air. Something landed next to me, and I felt a small poke. I hesitantly touched the creature. It felt like some sort of bird. Apparently satisfied, Soundwave gave Lazerbeak instructions to look after me, and then left the room.
"Hello, Lazerbeak," I whispered.
The small Cybertronian chirped at me. I heard him leave for a moment, and then something dropped in my lap. It was food!
"Thank you," I smiled.
I happily opened and ate the food. After we (I assumed he ate as well) both ate, I spent most of the day exploring and organizing the supplies that Soundwave had been so kind as to get for me. I read a little as well, as Soundwave had thoughtfully gotten me books written in Braille, which I did know how to read. As I read, Lazerbeak did-whatever Cybertronians do I suppose. I was absorbed in my book, when I heard the door slide open. Lazerbeak chirped happily as he flew to his master.
"Greetings: Iris," the now-familiar sound of recordings mashed together spoke.
"Hello, Soundwave," I greeted with a smile. "How did your work go?"
I heard him sigh a little as he walked over and gently picked me up, making sure to give me plenty of warning.
"Starscream: is incompetent and disloyal. Soundwave: annoyed by his attitude," he replied, somehow making the recordings give off a frustrated air. I giggled softly.
"That bad, huh?" I said.
Soundwave's POV
I never actually thought I would look forward to seeing a human again, but alas, I found myself missing the quiet company of the young human I had taken in. Right now, I am mostly drowning out Starscream's prattle about how he would make a much better leader than Megatron. Pfft. As if. Apparently, he forgot that part of my job is to inform Megatron of the goings-on of the Nemesis, and that included his plans to usurp Megatron. Both Megatron and I were aware that he was always trying to do so, and Starscream, as stupid as he was, just never seemed to pick that up.One thing to mention, is that I actually have three jobs. The Communications Officer, Surveillance Chief, and the Third in Command. These all have very different yet equally vital responsibilities, and the duties that come with managing all three are nearly endless. Unfortunately, the "break" I took to get Iris' supplies meant that I had even more work piling up than usual, and would not be back to my quarters until very late. It was nearly 1AM when I was done.
Exhausted, I made my way to my quarters. I was surprised to see both my minicon and charge still awake. Lazerbeak, who appeared to be bored, was flying in circles to entertain himself. Iris appeared to be reading one of the books I got for her. I also noticed she had (for the most part) organized her belongings. I had already set up the bed, desk, bookshelf, and kitchen the night before, so there wasn't much left for her to do. Once I made myself known, she smiled in my direction.
"Greetings: Iris," I stared in multiple voices.
"Hello Soundwave," she said. "How was your work?"
If I didn't have the self-control I do now, I would have banged my head against the wall in frustration. I sighed and picked up the human instead.
"Starscream: is incompetent and disloyal. Soundwave: annoyed by his attitude," is what I replied with.
She gave a slight giggle, which made me smile behind my mask.
"That bad, huh?" She said. Just then, I remembered the time.
"Observation: it is late.Iris: needs to sleep," I told her.
She sighed, then stretched. I heard strange popping sounds coming from her back, and would have been concerned if she didn't give groans of relief. I suppose that's a normal thing for humans then. I placed her back down, and she found her way to her bed, and fell asleep. I cleaned myself and Lazerbeak up, and followed suit. It had been a long day, and we were all tired. Hopefully tomorrow would be better.
Yes, this chapter is horrible, I know. I wanted to write something though, and I haven't updated this book in a while. Hopefully I'll be able to keep updating, now that I have at least some idea on where I want this story to go. Hope y'all enjoy!
