Arguing, crying, yelling... that's all we did for the next month. I want him and I don't know, my future? But he is scared and avoiding everything for whatever reason and it's miserable. He claims that he cares and rarely shows it. That's how it's been going.
I plopped on my couch, waiting an extra minute it two before getting in my car to go to work. I don't want to go to work, I don't want to stay here, I don't want to do anything. I disregarded my lack of motivation and stormed out of my house into my car. I don't care I will get there early and maybe I can leave early to be in my misery elsewhere.
Frank and Gerard greeted me with a friendly smile like usual, so I forged a fake one and sat at the counter where I threw my head down.
"You okay Brendon?" Gerard asked walking over to me. He leaned against the counter and I turned to look at him.
"Yes wonderful actually."
"Don't lie to me, what did Ryan do this time?" He sighed and his question fully got my attention this time. The sad thing is, Ryan and I fight all the time so they always see me at my worst because of him and that probably makes him look like a huge asshole. Which he is. But so am I.
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He's being so distant and weird, I don't know what's happening anymore. I'm so done." I threw my head back down on the counter after seeing the look of sadness in his eyes.
"No one ever said that loving comes easy. You will have ups and downs and everything in-between. But if you really love him, you will keep trying and I expect he will do the same. Frank risked absolutely everything for me. If it's meant to be, you both have to show you would do the same. I'm not saying now, but the world has a way." He pat my back and walked off, letting his words sink in.
That hit hard. I gotta admit. Gerard's advice floated through my mind for a majority of the day, until a guy with tall hair and a perfectly structured face walked through the door. Then all that advice flew out with the wind he brought in, the wind that took my breath away.
"Good Morning!" I said cheerfully, causing the guy to turn his head towards me. I got a full look at his features and gosh- he looked really familiar. He smiled at me, making his dimples appear and my brain short-circuited I swear.
"Dallon?" My mouth hung half-open as I stared at him in disbelief. He smiled at me even more.
"Brendon!" I ran carelessly around the counter to hug my childhood best friend.
"It's been forever!" I yelled pulling out of the short, awkward hug.
"It really has, I missed you, bro."
"Same here."
"Hey while we talk may you please show me to the bass guitars? Or more importantly, do you sell bass guitars?" We both laughed at his foolishness.
"Yes we do actually, they are over this way, c' mere." I ran my hand through my hair and walked him over to the small corner of the store. I moved my hands in a way of saying 'ta-da.'
"Thank you, thank you. I've been meaning to come to this store for a while, since I saw it being built."
"Oh don't mention it. The moment I saw this place opening, I zoomed over to see if they had any openings. As you know I love music, and lucky for me I already had met the owners from strange circumstances." He gave me a questioning look before we laughed it off and continued the conversation.
"It seems like an awesome job, plus this place looks really nice." We carried on catching up and everything until I got an idea.
"If you aren't doing anything else today, would you want to go somewhere and just catch up? I can't tell you about 6 years in 20 minutes."
