Taehyung adjusted the belt of his jeans before running a hand through his gelled hair, carefully combed to perfection. He flashed his teeth in the mirror, checking for stains or remains of his breakfast between his gums.

Nothing. There wasn't a flaw in sight. He was impeccably spotless.

What was the occasion, you ask?

Taehyung was going to confess to his long-dwelled-over crush, Kim Seokjin.

He needed to tell Jin how he felt. In person. Not over a stupid text message he'd seen days ago.

Sure, it was only an ordinary school day. What was the need for dressing up?

Only it wasn't an ordinary school day. This was the day he'd spill everything, every little piece of his inflated heart.

Surely, this called for something a little more than presentable.

"How do I look?" Taehyung asked, turning to his cell phone screen on which Jungkook's face was displayed.

Jungkook eyed him up and down, his bottom lip jutted out in a pout as his brows furrowed in examination. His expression then softened into a small grin and he held up his thumb in approval.

"So sexy," he joked with a cheeky smile. Taehyung rolled his eyes, but couldn't help smiling.

"Not what I was going for, but that works." Taehyung grabbed his bag off the floor before bidding Jungkook adieu and shutting off his phone.

This is it, he told himself. This is the day your whole world changes. Either Jin and you live in love and laughter...

Or he holds the grudge of a read, not-replied-to text message and leaves you in the dust.

Either is highly plausible.

Taehyung shrugged off the thought of rejection and kept high hopes, holding onto them as one might to their teddy bear after a nightmare.

After a ten-minute, mind-buzzing, excruciating walk to school, Taehyung arrived at the education facility, his flawless appearance still intact. Girls walked by and giggled, waving their dainty fingers at him, but he ignored them and trudged on, in the direction of Jin's locker.

There was only one person on his mind right now. And he intended to keep it that way.

Corridor after corridor, Taehyung turned, brushing past bustling students trying to get to class.

And there he was. Fumbling with the knob of his combination lock in an attempt to open the shut cabinet and attain his books. Eyes narrowed in concentration, as if performing an utterly difficult task.

But Taehyung didn't care what he was doing. His eyes were fixed on the boy himself, looking so beautiful doing the simplest of things.

God, was Jin gorgeous.

The way his raven hair draped his forehead just right. The way the earrings on his lobes glimmered in the dim glow of the tube lights overhead. The way his matted, unchapped lips formed the most adorable pout as he tried to open the locker that just wouldn't goddamn open. Taehyung could stay in that position forever; ten feet away from the most beautiful person he knew, longingly gazing at him as eons flashed by. What he wouldn't do to have it that way.

Taking in a calm breath, he took confident strides to Jin, rehearsing over and over in his head what he'd say once he approached said boy.

Jin, I like you.

Or I love you?

Is love pushing it? Is it too soon?

Shut up, Taehyung! You've got this. Say what you goddamn feel.
