Devastating

Chapter 7

When Marinette was about to tease Damian back, the gaping boy spoke up.

"Who is she?"

"Kent, nice to know your still alive. I thought you went brain dead after gaping like a fish for so long." At that comment, the french teens took notice of the boy standing next to them, and Marinette could clearly see that Kim was checking out the guy next to him. When 'Kent' noticed there were people next to him, he began to check Kim out as well.

Marinette and Damian shared a look and Damian answered his friend's question,

"If you are both are done staring," Damian said, almost sounding bored. The two boys' eyes met and they blushed, "-this is Marinette and who I'm assuming are her friends. Marinette Jon, Jon Marinette."

"It's nice to meet you, Jon! I'm Marinette and these are my friends: Alix is the one with pink hair, Chloe is the blond, and this is Kim." Marinette finished off with a smile, sharing a knowing glance with Alix and Chloe. What Marinette missed was that Alix and Chloe shared the same look but in reference to the noirettes.

Deciding to give Kim and Jon more time to get to know each other, Marinette asked Damian:

"Dami, do you and Jon want to join us for lunch? Were going to the cafe just down the road."

Damian glanced down at her with a knowing look but decided to ask his friend first, knowing that he might not want to spend so much time with someone he might be intimidated by.

"Kent, do we have time for lunch? Is that meeting even mandatory?" Damian smoothly lied knowing his friend would pick up on the question.

"Yeah we do, the meeting got rescheduled for tomorrow anyways." Kent responded almost immediately. At that, Damian offered Marinette his arm and told the midnight haired girl,

"Lead the way." With her hand wrapped around Damian's arm Marinette led the group toward the restaurant noticing how Kim and Jon walked next to each other while introducing themselves, Chloe and Alix behind them smirking at the bluenette proudly, the little ray of sunshine just set Kim up! Marinette even heard Chloe say,

"They grow up so fast!" But Marinette couldn't be bothered, Damian began asking her about how the fabrics were and what she had done that day.

Conversation between the pairs flowed as they made their way to the restaurant and were quickly seated, the group had animated discussions and debates, and a few arguments between Alix and Kim that seemed to amuse Jon while Marinette and Chloe just looked annoyed as if they had heard the same argument a thousand times before.

"NO WAY, I BEAT YOU BY A MILE! Don't believe me? Rematch. Day after we get back, same time and place as always. Don't be late!"

"Your on, short stacks!" Kim shot back before sitting leaning on the back of his seat, putting his arm behind the chair next to him, a habit of his, which also happened to be Jon's seat. While Kim hadn't even thought about the motion, Jon seemed to have stopped breathing.

The Parisians laughed at the unnecessary argument, while Damian almost seemed to smile at his friend's reaction to Kim. The group ate their food and Jon and Kim exchanged numbers before saying their goodbyes.

Marinette was about to say her goodbyes but Jon pulled her aside and began speaking,

"Hey, I know you just met Damian and even more recently me but he seems to like you and being around you. So... thanks?"

"Oh- oh um merci- ah thank you." Marinette quickly mumbled out unsure of how to respond to the awkward comment.

They stood in silence, Marinette didn't know what to do in this type of situation, should she have said something else? Did she do something wronge? Sure she was good at english but she could have done something wrong without even noticing, the english language was a mess!

Damian's P.O.V.

Jon had pulled Marinette aside and began to speak to her, Damian tried to read their lips but Bourgeois called his name and Damian looked at her letting the blond know he was listening they began,

"Okay dude, we can see the way you look at Marinette and we want you to know that it's all good as long as you don't break her heart or something. She's had enough of that to last a lifetime." Alix rushed out.

Damian almost let his panic get the best of him and flush but he schooled his features before any of them noticed and decided to return the favor,

"I wouldn't dream of it. Oh, and Le Chien, word of the wise- don't hurt my friend or else. He seems to return your sentiments if either your actions are any indication."

Kent and Marinette returned a moment later, both looking awkward. The groups said goodbye and went their seperate ways.

That night, before getting ready for patrol Damian made sure to ask when their next free day was so they could meet up and Marinette immediately responded telling him,

Marinette
We have a tour tomorrow, but I'll let you know if something happens. I'm glad we ran into each other today! Kim and Jon really seemed to hit it off!!!

Damian smiled to himself, she uses so many exclamation points.

"What are you smiling at, brat? Ohhhhh~ it's that lady friend of yours isn't it?"

"Shut it Todd."
