Damian's P.O.V.Damian and Marinette wrapped up their training after another quick round of normal sparing, the noirette had improved greatly in the last two sessions. Once they finished, they stretched and took turns showering. Marinette went first after Damian showed her how to use the faucets for the shower, he heard her humming as she did so.
Once they were ready Marinette walked with Damian hand in hand as she spoke to him. Damian noticed that it was time for diner and walked a little faster towing Marinette along. They made it into the dining room, only to find it in utter chaos.
Todd and Drake were bickering while Mar'i excitedly ran around the room being chased by her father and mother, shakily flying just out of reach whenever they got close. Bruce was hunched over some papers trying to finish before diner, Selina and Alfred were trying to corral the family.
"Ah- the charade has finally come to an end, now you'll get to see the heathens in their true form." Damian commented distastefully.
"What are you talking about this is cool! I never had siblings, but this is how I imagined it would be!" Marinette said with a smile.
"Well, if this is how you thought it'd be... how do you suggest we get the room to stop for supper?"
"Oh, that's easy! I saw it on an American 'roam-comb'."
"Rom-com" Damian corrected.
"Yes, yes, that." Marinette then pinched her bottom lip in an odd way and whistled loudly, the whole room came to a stop.
"It worked!" Marinette said chirpily. Damian just stared at her, 'how in the world did she do that?' Apparently some of his family members had the same idea and were about to speak but Mar'i beat them too it.
"AUNTIE NETTIE! That was so cool, can you show me?" The Waynes paled at the thought of Mar'i being able to whistle at all, let alone like a New York native.
"Oh, maybe! But not today. We still have to make something for dessert today!" Marinette smoothed over to the family's relief.
"Okay! Why don't we sit for diner? Yeah? Great!" Dick said before Mar'i could ask when, she was very detail-oriented.
"Okay! Auntie Nettie, can I sit with you?" Marinette looked at the girl's parents before answering.
"Of course!"
"Great, uncle Dami you can sit on Auntie Nettie's other side. We can share!" Mar'i smiled at her aunt and uncle.
"Alright." Was all Damian could get out before Mar'i dragged them to the chairs, Alfred sat next to Bruce, the pseudo grandfather had Kor'i on his right, Mar'i next to her mother and Marinette, who sat next to Damian. On the other side of the table: Selina sat next to her husband, with Dick in front of his wife and Jason on his left, Tim sat across from Marinette and there was a spot with no seat across from Damian.
Someone then came into the room, they had bright red hair and were in a wheelchair.
"BABS! I'm so glad you could make it." Dick said and the rest of the family chorused in, glad to see their friend.
"It's good to see you guys to, but first things first, I want to meet Damian's girlfriend~" Gordon said making Marinette blush, Damian didn't miss a beat and spoke up.
"This is Marinette. Marinette this is Barbara Gordon, daughter of the commissioner and a close family friend."
"It's nice to meet you, Barbra! I'm Marinette!" Marinette happily but shyly introduced herself, Barbara seemed to feed off Marinette's excited spirit and they began to prattle. They discussed a broad spectrum of topics, most of the family participated but it mainly stayed between the women. It was almost like they planned it, Mar'i even seemed to be in on it, occasionally giggling. Perhaps they wanted to give the boys a taste of their own medicine since their numbers were now more even.
