"Fucking finally!" Angelo exclaimed as he saw (Y/n) walk in the games room followed by Eli.

Everyone turned to look at them. Dottie instantly lit up and beckoned (Y/n) to come sit back down next to her.

"Your map needs work." (Y/n) handed to piece of paper back to Tim before going over to Dottie, Eli silently sat down on (Y/n)'s other side.

Tim looked at his map with a panicked expression, his need for perfection was crying and his pride was bruised. "Are you sure you used it right??"

"You have a totally different house right there, man." Eli scoffed with a smirk. (Y/n) kissed her teeth at Eli, reminding him that he needed to make an effort.

Tim muttered something to himself incoherently and tucked the map away into his pocket after folding it harshly. "Now that all of us are here we can start playing."

"Playing? What are we doing?" Eli spoke up judgementally. "Is there nothing else we could be doing?"

Max and Bella inwardly agreed but the other players just wanted to start this as soon as possible to get it done with, they'd been waiting for long enough now.

Tim inhaled deeply through his nose. 'Don't let this guy get to you, assert power, unite them and gain their respect and thus control over the situation.' He told himself as he geared up to repsond.

"If you were here earlier then you'd know that we're doing this as means of bonding us as a group. We're only on our first day, there's plenty of time to figure out how we're going to combat the Gamemaster but for now we should become acquainted with each other." Tim explained eloquently. "We don't know how long we'll be here for, we should learn to get along."

Those words stuck on all of their minds: 'We don't know how long we'll be here for.'

For all they knew, they could live the rest of their lives on this island... hell, their lives may not be lasting much longer. They were all helpless to the Gamemaster's will at the end of the day.

Other than that, (Y/n) found herself agreeing with Tim's point about getting to know each other. She was sure that everyone was more edgy than usual since it was their first day and they'd warm up to each other in time. She'd already found somewhat of a friend in Dottie, and Bella was claiming to be her 'ally'... whatever that meant in the long run.

"Now," Tim continued. "I have a game that I actually made myself a few years ago, it has some poker-esque elements but it also involves-"

"Let's just play shithead." Eli shrugged.

"Oh, man, I love that game!" Owen exclaimed. "I play with my friends all the time."

"But-" Tim tried to intervene.

"What's shithead?" Dottie asked curiously, shifting closer to (Y/n).

"It's this card game, since there are so many of us we'll need two decks." Owen took the lead on explaining the rules while Eli just looked smug.

(Y/n) felt some sympathy for Tim but not enough to do anything about it.

"Surely you'd rather play my game, I mean, it's specifically for larger groups and it has plenty of fun twists."

"Dude, no one wants to play your goddamn made-up card game just hand me some decks and I'll start dealing." Eli held his hand out to Tim, only the two of them seemed to notice the cockiness that Eli emitted.

The irony was that Eli didn't really care what others thought of him and he was quickly becoming much more favoured over Tim who cared about other's opinion of him very much.
