????????? ?????? || Persona 5 x Reader Oneshots

Requested by MarieAetheling! This oneshot is quite... interesting... I honestly have no idea what I was doing when I wrote this. A special thanks to a few of my friends on Amino for helping me figure out what to write!

[Y/n's P.O.V.]

I pulled the hood of my rain jacket over my head, shielding myself from the rain as I walked. My feet carried me forward as the small community library came closer into my sight. 

Pulling down my hood as I walked into the building, my eyes adjusted to the brightness that contrasted the darkness that the clouds cast over Japan. I shook my hands at my sides as if that would lessen the cold temperature that lingered on my fingers from the rain. 

The bookshelves towered above me as I wandered through them, looking for the single novel I had come to the library for. Eventually, I found it, and I silently cheered for myself with a small fist pump. 

I got up on my toes and attempted to nudge the book off the shelf, but just as my fingers almost reached the book's spine, a gloved hand gently bumped into mine. I looked over to my left, where a familiar boy stood, whom I know as my friend Goro Akechi, staring right back at me. 

I bring my hand away from the book and nod at him to take it, but he only motions his hand upward to where the book stood, untouched by either of us. I lightly cough into my hand and wait patiently for him to take the book and leave, but he stays. 

"Why won't you just grab it?" I whisper. 

"Why won't you?" He retaliates, his eyes on me as I crossed my arms and scoffed.

"Take it," I hiss. 

"Ladies first."

"How does that even work in that situation?"

Akechi raises a finger as if to further elaborate his argument when a librarian peeks around the corner of the bookshelf, her index finger pressed against her pursed lips which looked threatening, albeit. 

"How about we both take it?" He remarks, and I raise an eyebrow as he pulls the book off the shelf and tosses it lightly in his hand while waiting to check the book out from the library. 

"So..." I mumble once we've left the library. A few drops of rain splash on the tip of my nose, and I bring my hands up around my hood, but Akechi stops me. 

"I have an umbrella if you don't mind sharing."

"S- Sure."

"I was actually just about to go get something to eat," He declares, "Would you like to come with me Y/n?"

"Oh gosh," I chuckle nervously, grabbing my arm with the opposite hand, "You're being really generous."

"Is it too much?"

"Not at all! I'm just... Not used to it, I guess." I shrug, averting my eyes to the concrete sidewalk underneath my soles. "Where were you planning to eat?"

"One of the pancake houses around here. I haven't entirely decided yet."

"I know one that's just a block or so away," I offer, pointing in front of us to where the street branches off at an intersection. 

"Heh, sure!" He chuckles, grinning slightly. So, you're interested in mystery novels too, Y/n?" He asks. 

I nod as my smile lessens into more of a grin. "Yeah, I've loved them since grade school. I also really love other books by that same author," I remark, nodding slightly to the book still tucked under Akechi's arm. "Have you read any of their novels yet?"
