You had been dreading this day for weeks, the day where the cadets and superiors trained together.

You'd rather just train normally or train with your friends but today each squad had to train with their captain or superior. Meaning you'd have to do combat training with the one and only angry captain.

That wasn't the only issue though, the other thing was that you were his least favorite cadet next to Eren. You talked back when something didn't seem fair and often questioned his authority.

The hot air outside made you wonder why the hell did it have to be summer. Sweat dripped down your body, making your hair and uniform stick to your skin like glue.

Your captain was currently taking down the cadets that faced him, sounds of annoyance and impatience leaving him. It was over the minute your eyes locked and he called your name.

"Cadet (Y/N) (L/N) you're up."

Your footsteps were slow as you approached the male, dead grass crunching under your worn boots.

You got into the fighting stance all the cadets were taught, legs bent, shoulder width apart and your arms prepped as a guard.

The captain only scoffed, but got into a similar stance but a more fine-tuned one. You both stood waiting for the first attack, but you knew better than to throw a punch without analyzing the opponent.

"You can't just stand around forever, brat. You're not scared to throw a punch, are you?"

His eyes traveled up and down your body, but they widened as you made the first move. Even as you dodged and attacked he still caught your arms and legs, twisted your right arm behind your back and pushing you to the ground.

You writhed in his grip, twisting and pulling as hard as you could.

Somehow you got your arm free, elbowing him in the stomach and turning around before he could grab you again.

"You're gonna have to try harder, Captain."

"Don't get cocky, it was just luck. Don't think so highly of yourself just yet."

"Oh I won't, not until I beat you."

You were about to catch your breath until you were blocking attacks with your arms. So much for a headstart.

The fight went on for longer than expected and you two were exhausted from the brawl. The crowd of other interested cadets had long since left and you were about to call off the fight.

"It's clear you show no sign of giving up but I'm afraid I have to call this off. If we keep going you'll just end up going to the medical wing and I'll be filling up another report. Rest up brat because later tonight I'm going to teach you how to fight."

The thought perplexed you, if you had made it this far why in the world would you need to expand your skillset?

"I thought I was doing pretty well against you, but I guess I missed a step."

You both stand in casual positions, breathing hard and dripping with sweat. Your body freezes as he grips your shoulder, staring at you carefully.

"You did a better than average job, but you need improvement and if I'm being honest with you, your more qualified than the other cadets."

He walks off, leaving you a confused mess and ready for a break or two.

You rested up, taking a shower and getting dinner. Your body ached and you'd probably be littered with bruises soon.

"(Y/N), how'd training go for you!?"

Sasha spoke to you, excited to hear any gossip or news.

"It went fine but I've got to talk to the little troll again, he wants to talk about different techniques."

As you two kept talking the captain was still nowhere in sight. Now that you thought about it, you hadn't seen him since the little exchange.

You left the dining hall, sighing as you wandered around the castle interior, wanting fresh air and peace.

The starry night shone brightly in the dark sky, illuminating the wispy clouds above.

You leaned against the stone wall, letting your body relax and enjoy the quiet.

"What're you doing out here cadet?"

You jumped, a small yelp escaping your lips as fear sent a shiver down your spine.

"Just taking a break from everything else."

"There's more concerning matters than me, but I'm not here to lecture you. I'm here to get you in shape for the next mission."

You crossed your arms and just stared at the area ahead of you two.

"I don't think I'll be much of a opponent like this Captain, but I'll bite. As much as I love annoying you, I'm here to be a cadet under your supervision and save humanity."

"It's not about being weak but whether you can grow stronger. I need your full cooperation though, unfortunately."

He stood behind you, grabbing your arms and pulling them into a certain position.

"Your holding your arms too close to your chest, put some distance in and don't lose position."

"Yeah I hear ya shorty."

He tightened his grip on you, twisting your body with his movements.

"When you punch out your whole body into the attack, same thing if you kick. When you drop down, make sure you can get up just as fast to get to safety."

Suddenly you were facing him as the moonlight glistened in the shadows, light drifting on both of you.

"And never get distracted unless it's more important than the task at hand."

His grip on your arms released, and you dropped them to your side.

"Unless it's more important? What do you mean Captain?"

Your eyes locked again but this time he seemed so much closer than before.

His lips brushed lightly against your ear, warranting a blush to your cheeks.

"It's easy to get distracted in s bad situation, and we can often put our personal desires first. I'm just saying don't mix them too much unless you really want to."

Your body felt hotter than the summer heat, but it was probably just your mind racing as the current situation took place.

You pressed your hands to his chest, your fingers digging into the material of his shirt.

His arms hooked around your waist, pulling you closer to him.

"So you're saying that I am more important than you previously thought?"

"That's one way to put it, (Y/N). You relaxed into his grip, but your thoughts went wild as he pulled you into a desperate plead of attention.

You gave in, but not without a fight for control over him.

You were breathing heavily in his ear, your voice filled with the sounds of pleasure. Your words unrecognizable as your breathing only quickened.

You both pulled away from the sweet sensation, exhausted from the days events.

You stretched out, yawning and sighing.

"I'm sure you have important things to do so I'll head to bed now but I'm not going to forget about this exchange, Captain."

"The only important thing I have to do is you but you're too tired. Goodnight, cadet."

You headed off to bed but a certain sentence spoken by your superior left you dumbfounded.

What did he mean by that!?
