Beyond Limits

I picked my phone and answered the call with a smile on  my face. I missed this man. It's been a while since we had a hang out. Maybe, he was too busy with the requirements but he never missed sending his goodnights to his beloved bestfriend.

 [ Hellow, kapag ganyan na ang tawag mo sa akin alam ko na may kailangan yan eh! ] Tumawa ako sa sinabi ni Amir. He really knew me too well alam na niya ang likaw ng bituka ko. Sino ba naman ang hindi kung mula pagkabata magkasama na kami.

[Love? ] Ulit ko tsaka tumawa para mas lalong tuksuhin siya. Alam kong naiinis siya sa tawagan namin kasi parang ang dating para kaming magjowa.

[ Huy! Parang tanga naman 'to wrong timing ka talaga 'yung phone ko connected sa laptop at reporting ko lang naman. Tsaka po'pop up ang message mo? Tinukso ako sa klase' lam mo yon? ]  I laughed with what he said and imagined how his face turned red in embarrassment.

[ Ayaw mo 'non may napagkamalang kang girlfriend tapos isang dilag pa? aba naman ang swerte mo, sir! ]  

[Love?  kabahan ka nga sa sinasabi mo. Kain ka ha? Wag papalipas ng gutom, okay?]

Thatcher Amir Mendoza said jokingly. He is my Bestfriend. Sanay naman kaming tinatawag ang isa't isa niyan kasi mula pagkabata magkasama na kami. Apat kami actually but things changed at kami nalang dalawa ang naiwan.

[ Sorry,  Tham. ]

I sounded so apologetic alam kong tutuksuhin na naman siya ng mga classmate niya. Napapadpad ako minsan sa college nila para maghintay kay Tham kapag wala na akong klase kaya kilala na ako ng mga classmates niya.

[ It's okay, Leyla. Sanay na ako sa katarantaduhan mo. Bakit ka nga pala nagtext ? Going somewhere? ] Walanghiyang Tham!

Tawag niya 'yan sa akin simula pa nong una. I love my bestfriend, not romantically, okay? I just loved him nandyan kasi siya palagi and he is romantically in love with my cousin Paige, our childhood friend but sad to say they broke up. They won't tell me the reason and I  respected their decision. Sasabihin naman nila kung gusto nila pero parang may mali kasi kung bakit di nila masabi sa akin.

[ Yes, Tham I wanna go shopping. Can you go with me? ]

Itong tao lang to ang hindi siguro nauumay samahan ako umikot sa mall . I didn't hear anything from him kahit matagal akong matapos sa ginagawa ko sa mall. He treated me like a sister daw sabi niya.So, dapat sasamahan niya raw ako palagi.

[Okay, Love! Wait for me 'kay? ]

This endearment though! Napagkakamalan kaming magjowa dahil diyan. I ended the call and prepared. I heard the doorbell rang, I know it's him so I went downstairs. Woah! He is so manly with his outfit. He is wearing a plain black shirt paired with ripped jeans and an old school vans shoes. While, I am wearing a floral dress paired with a glittery doll shoes hinayaan ko lang nakalugay ang buhok kong kulot.

"Tham! " I sounded excited and ran towards him to give him a hug.

'' Leyla, careful! Looks like someone missed me that much" He chuckled then hug me back and tousled my hair.

" Let's go?" he asked  and I nodded

" Bye, manang! "

" By the way, what happened to you a while ago?"

My brows furrowed and looked at him but before I can utter a word, he showed me his phone and the Insta post of Khale, welcomed my beloved eyes.
