Most guys are jerks, you know? Well I have one friend who is the kindest, friendliest guy I know. He treats girls right. Mike* (name changed) doesn't 'kiss and tell' as some people say. Mike isn't a jerk to girls, especially to get girls. He isn't a player, and doesn't try to be one. As my sister says "Mike is half girl, and half boy, but not gay." His brother is (excuse my french) often a douche bag. You would think that having that kind of a testosterone filled brother would affect him, but it miraculously doesn't. A few months ago, I was at Halloween party with Mike, and we were discussing things that made us curious about each other, and I asked him about his then girlfriend. Out of curiosity, I asked him, "Mike, what is it that attracted you to your girlfriend.

He told me, "Well not much. She is really nice, but I don't like her that way. She's just a friend for me."

I, of course, immediately asked him why. He told me that when she asked him out, he said yes because she obviously felt something for Mike, and he wanted to give her a shot.

"But if you don't like-like her, why do you go out with her still? Isn't it kind of unfair to both of you?"

"I guess it might be, but she really likes me, and she would be heartbroken if I broke up with her. I don't want to cause her so much pain. I would feel really bad."

The rest of our conversation continued along the lines of why and why not Mike should keep dating the girl. He said that if he did break-up with her, he would find a way to do it gently, and nicely. Not just go up to her and say "I'm breaking up with you" or "We're done. I don't want to date you anymore." Today, he isn't dating her, so he must have found a kind way to tell her. Mike would be the perfect stero-type boyfriend and friend that only seems to exist in books. Any girl would be lucky to have him.
