"How are you feeling Seokjin? You good?" Y/N asked as she walked over to her best friend standing by the window. Y/N put her hand on his shoulder. Seokjin stared into space, not looking at Y/N, absently looking out at the window of his house watching the traffic going past. "Seokjin?" Y/N tried again to get a response out of her best friend. No reply. Y/N decided to give him some space alone. Seokjin had decided to go and do his mandatory military service and had decided to go at the earliest moment he could. The earliest opportunity was tonight which Jin had agreed to take. This meant that he was leaving tonight and only had a couple of hours left before they came for him. Seokjin had told Y/N as soon as he had found out and allowed her to spend the rest of his time with him so he was able to sort things out. Jin was going into the Marine Corps and had explained to Y/N that he would be away for 21 months. Y/N didn't know how she felt about the whole situation. She knew that Seokjin had to do military service, but Y/N felt like it was too sudden especially when Jin had requested going at the earliest opportunity Y/N thought as she walked away from where Seokjin was and walked towards the entrance of the door.

"Y/N wait. Don't go. Seokjin spoke suddenly, causing Y/N to turn around fully to look at Jin. Seokjin sighed, before turning around and looking fully at Y/N. "This is the last time I am going to see you for a while. I honestly don't know how I feel about it all." Jin spoke as he made his way over to his bed stroking the bedcovers. I don't know what to make of all these preparations I need to do. And my hair. It will be gone soon. Y/N watched as Jin ran this hands through his black hair. In a couple of hours, Jin's hair would be cut at the base when he would arrive where his hair would be collected and put into a brown bag and saved for DNA samples for his family. Although it was really rare for someone to die in mandatory military service, the hair would be used to send back to Seokjin family cause there were no corporeal remains. "What about the box that will be made for my family when I get there?" Jin rambled on as he sat down at the end of the bed. "Jin, listen to me Y/N was now speaking to Jin. It is going to be okay, your family will be so proud of you." Y/N made her way across to Seokjin and kneeled in front of him putting a hand on his shoulder. A box would be made as well as Jin's hair being shaved. Seokjin's items as a solider and clothes that he wore before enlisting would be sent to his parents making it an emotional experience for friends and family. However, for the parents, it would signify the start of their son's military enlistment.

Jin looked up, catching Y/N's eyes. Jin was crying, tears running down his face. Y/n knew at this moment that Seokjin had been bottling his feelings up and was now letting them run free. Y/N stood up and went towards the bed so she was able to sit next to her best friend. "It is going to be okay, you know. Your family will be so proud of their son and so will your brother. They love you Jin. Remember that." Y/N put her arm around his shoulders, comforting him and reassuring him he was okay. "But...., wh-at, what about BTS. The boys. The f--ans. They will leave us, won't they?"Seokjin hiccuped as he tried to form a sentence whilst crying hard. Y/N continued rubbing his shoulders constantly as she tried to calm him down. It was going to be hard for both of them. Y/N had known Seokjin when they were both six years old and have been best friends ever since. Never had a day went by when he had never wanted to see me Y/N thought as she watched her best friend, the man she had witnessed growing with up him, cry. " Seokjin, they love you and they will never leave you. They will be there once you get back. The fans will never forget you, no matter what happens. You make BTS just like all the other boys. Your charisma, your dad jokes, your amazing vocals, and harmonies. You make one part of BTS just like the other boys making one part. Seven parts. They will never forget you Worldwide Handsome. They love you. Forever and always." Y/N replied to Seokjin watching him chuckle through his tears as he looked at you lightly shrugging your arm off him. Jin grabbed Y/N into a hug, resting his chin on Y/N's shoulder. "Thank you, I'm going to miss you so much. I'm so lucky to have you as a best friend. I will always be there for you Y/N, you know that?" Jin kept hugging Y/N tight as he told her the things he had wanted to say to here when he had decided about the military. "I know Seokjin, I know. I miss you too." Y/N responded to him.

And just like that, the remaining last few hours had gone letting Y/N say goodbye to Jin before he went away to enlist. Y/N knew that one day Seokjin would be home once again and knew that their paths would cross once again. They would always remain best friends because no matter how far away they were from each other distance and time could not break them apart no matter what Y/N thought as she watched the car with her best friend waving as it drove away. One day they would meet again.....
