Walking down the streets of a city called Baltimore, you see many people talking and laughing with one another. It was something you had been jealous of your whole life. You wanted friends. Something you never had because you had been bullied for being the masochist of the school. There was nothing wrong with you.. right? You were just a pre-teen like any other. You were normal yet.. people saw you differently.
You had just moved to this city and you were planning on changing yourself for the better. It was your first day of a new school and you wanted to make a good first impression. You understood it wasn't going to be easy. I mean.. changing yourself takes some time to get used to. One wrong move and you could end up being different for the rest of your life.
You have your schedule balled up in your hand from messing with it to much. You were just THAT nervous. You get to your new school and felt yourself starting to sweat. You couldn't move. Not until you were shoved by a random pupil.
"O-Oh my bad!.. I didn't see ya' there..."
You look and study the person for a quick second. He had a smile on his face and he seemed nice so you and breathe in from your nose and decide to say something.
"No worries.. heheh.."
"So.. ya' new around here?"
"I am.. is it that obvious..?"
"I've never seen your face around and I never forget a face-! Anyways, I gotta get to class and you should too! Cya around Fresher, and good luck-!"
You were left with a confused expression on your face as this boy started running again. Good luck..? What did he mean? You ignore it, for now, and make your way into the school to start with your first couple of classes.
Your day was going by pretty smoothly and once you were on your way to your last class you were relieved. You were holding back so much of your personality and you have succeeded so far. You enter your last class and sat down somewhere. Looking down, you see a blue notebook, realizing that you were in your math class now. You really hated math, but you were good at it. You look around to see the same blue notebook on every other desk and think to yourself.
I wonder where everyone is..
Not a lot of people were in class, there were just a few people who sat in there desks silently. No words came out of there mouth. The whole entire room was silent and you were a bit worried. Were you in the correct class? You look back down at your notebook in attempt to ignore the silence and opened it. It was empty, of course so, you closed it and sighed wondering when this class would start. Just as you thought that, a tall bald man walked in. You capture his image.
He was a bald human figure with long, skinny fingers, pale-tan skin and what seemed to be a singular copper strand of hair on his head. He had a bright smile on his face as he walked in and headed straight to the desk in the front of the classroom. He scanned the room and opened his mouth to speak.
"It looks as though we are missing some people so, we will just have to start without them!"
He looks my direction and his smile widens. The creepiest thing I have ever seen.
"Hello! Welcome to my schoolhouse! And you are..?" I quickly stand up and bow like an idiot.
"[Y/N], sir..! Its very nice to meet you!"
"Well [Y/N], it is nice to meet you to! You can call me professor Baldi!" He said as he turns to the class, "Now its time for everyones favorite subject!.. Math!.."
Yeah.. I'm sure its everyones favorite subject. This guy was kind of creeping me out-
Is he really my math teacher..? I can't be in a class with this guy any longer.. He looks.. I dunno.. deformed. As he taught the class I sat in silence, staring at nothing at all. Not that I could pay any attention, I was never good at the whole learning thing. Although, that never stopped me from getting good grades. I aced my tests and got all A's at my last school, what was so different about being here.
Baldi had us open our notebooks as he said that we would be having a test on what we all just learned. I opened my notebook and looked up at the board to see 3 problems on the board. I quickly did all three of them and sat back feeling accomplished. Baldi came towards me and took my notebook with a big smile on his face.
"Fantastic! You got them all right! Here's your prize!.." A prize..? No one said anything about a prize. I smiled and looked up at him as he held out his hand with "A shiny quarter!"
A quarter..? I took it and smiled brightly at him to show my gratitude.
"Thank you, sir..!"
He left my desk and went over to his, sitting down in his chair and eyeing every student in the classroom with his long and creepy smile. What was up with this guy..? Where was everyone? Why in the world did everyone seem scared? So many unanswered questions that I want to figure out.
Baldi stood up from his desk and wiped the board off. "You all did an amazing Job! Here's your next three!"
I did the first two easily but then I got to the last question. I look over at the other pupils to see if they were having a hard time to.
They all looked pretty busy. Maybe they haven't gotten to it yet..?
I looked back down at my paper and sighed. I could hear footsteps walking around the classroom. Right when I was fixing to raise my hand for some help, I noticed his footsteps had stopped.
"You got it wrong, Jonas..."
I blinked repeatedly and then look up at Baldi. He was still smiling. But then as he continues to talk it was slowly turning into a big frown. It scared me.
"I'll get angrier for every answer you get wrong..."
His words petrified me. I watched as he pulled out a ruler and smacked it against his hand. It was loud.. how could he do that.
The pupil seemed scared as he said,
"P-Please!! I'm sorry! D-Don't hurt me! I'll try again!" He started crying..
Why would he hurt you? He cant.. he was a teacher. There is no way. Everyone was watching and as I looked around, everyone was shaking and crying for the boy. It wasn't until I heard another loud smack, but a louder one, that I actually looked over at the boy and started the quiver a bit.
Baldi.. the teacher... smacked the boy with his ruler. The boy was screaming and his cheek was bleeding, everyone covered their ears and looked away. But me.. I just watched. Was it in fear?.. was it in happiness?.. was it both?
Something triggered me as smacks continued to beat up the poor boy who got only one answer incorrect. Was this my life now..? How could I ever hide myself. "Good luck"
Was this... was this what he meant..?I can't be in a class with this guy any longer.
