Prickly Pear

Daniel and Duke did an amazing job during their performance. I went to go and congratulate them back stage but to my surprise Duke was crying.

"What happened?" I clenched my fist and searched his face for any bruises.

"We got attention for the song, but they only reached out to me. This is so unfair to Duke." Daniel lamented.

"Oh no, honey you did amazing!" I comforted the trembling Duke. I took him in my arms rubbing his back gently. He cried his eyes out and Daniel joined the hug.

That was last week and surprisingly Duke bounced right back. We were back in class and there's a been a fly buzzing on Daniels ear lately. Her name was Yui and I didn't agree with how she treated Daniel. For the past couple of days they've been flirting non stop. Something about Yui seemed really shady but I wasn't sure if that was just me being stingy. I mean we're just friends but every time I see her around Daniel, it makes me want to punch Daniel in the fucking throat.

I didn't feel like third wheeling with Daniel so I approached Zoe before school ended. She seemed a bit on edge when I called out her name.

"Want to hang out together. Daniels being a dick head." I scratched my cheek awkwardly. She looked at me in shock and then started to laugh.

"Jeez why do you look so nervous? How about we go to a cafe and get some snacks! Then we can go over to my house." She grinned grabbing my arm.

We had a lot of fun when we went shopping and then hung out in her room. She asked me if I could join her live stream and at first I refused but she didn't want to do it alone so I begrudgingly agreed.

When the camera was turned on I just sat down staring into the camera. Some guy named Gangnam Landlord kept sending her balloons. I'm assuming he's some sort of creep cuz the amount he was spending it wasn't cheap. Zoey was changed into a white tee and I was wearing a white button down. Honestly something didn't really sit right with me and when we were done live-streaming I told Zoey to be careful. She just called me a worry wart.

It was night time and I decided to take a walk to the connivence store and talk to Daniel. If I were to choose which Daniel I liked best it would be the smaller one. He just seems more approachable and I could tell he has a soft heart. When I walked in I walked to the counter with a smile.

"Hey Daniel! Nice night right?" I asked. Daniel always has a chair behind the counter just in case I stop by. He's so considerate I didn't even ask him to do all of that.

"YN! Good evening, it's been pretty slow today." Daniel smiled back. I bought two sodas and tapped the cold soda on Daniels cheeks startling him.

"Y-Yn!" Daniel whined.

"I bought it for you!" I laughed lightly. Daniels cheeks turned red and he thanked me placing the drink on the counter.

"Aren't you cold? It's September." Yui frowned while walking in the store with another man.

"Interesting..." I smirked.

"Men don't feel cold." The man answered smugly.

"But you've got goosebumps." Yui pointed out.

It appears that their buying condoms. Little Daniel seemed to be staring blankly at Yui in shock. Maybe Daniel told him about her so he's founding out that she's for the streets.

"What the hell are you looking at? Never seen those. This pig is pissing time the fuck off." She cursed crossing her arms.

"Hey lower your eyes." The man ordered. I decided it was time to intervene and stood up.
