Chapter twenty seven: meet the Bakugo's

Mitsuki giggled at your comment while the two males coughed slightly and continued to stare at their plates of curry.

"How did you and Katsuki become such close friends? He's always been such an ill tempered brat I can't believe he got so lucky!" She laughed.

"YOU HAG!" Katsuki shouted angrily at his mothers insults.

You laughed slightly before pressing your finger to your chin. "Well...I missed the first week of school due to an incident. When I finally got there the teacher explained my quirk to the class and Katsuki said he wanted to fight me while I used his own power against him. I thought it could be fun so we started training for the sports festival and then after that...I don't know I guess I decided he was cool to keep around! But I have no idea why her decided to stick around me." You laughed and ruffled the angry boys hair. He growled at you slightly but made no attempt to attack you.

Both of his parents looked at you in shock and amazement. "Amazing. He's always had people fawning over him so it must've been nice to find an equal right Katsuki?" Mitsuki asked her son.

You cut in before he had a chance to reply. "Oh I'm no way his equal. He's a lot stronger than me." You laughed and shook your hand.

"Shut up nerd. I wouldn't stick around you if I thought you were weak." He growled at you but it was softer than usual, causing you to smile.

After you had finished your meals you helped Mitsuki carry out the plates, though it was a bit difficult to hold them with your arm in a sling. She took the plates from you when you both made it to the kitchen. "I want to thank you for sticking with Katsuki. I know he's a pain sometimes but you really seem to understand my boy." Mitsuki smiled honestly at you and patted you gently on the head.

"No problem, It's my pleasure." You gave her your classic smile. She pulled you into a close side hug as you both made your way to the living room. Katsuki and Masaru where sat quietly on the sofa. You took your phone out of your pocket to check the time.

"Thank you for having me but I should get back before my parents worry that I've been kidnapped again." You laughed as you read the time as 07:12.

"I'll walk you back." Katsuki stated as he stood up.

"No you won't young man! Remember the police told you not to go wondering off." Mitsuki pointed a finger at him.

"It's like a five minute walk. There's no point in her getting a taxi for that. And it's not even dark yet so chill out old hag!" He snapped at his mother as he was already making his way to the front door while dragging you along.

"Come back straight away then!" She shouted at him.

"Yeah, yeah." He grumbled as he slipped his shoes on. You did the same as you followed him out of the door.

"Thank you for having me!" You bowed at Mitsuki as she stood in the doorway.

"No problem! You can come over any time you like y/n!" She waved at you kindly as Katsuki continued to drag you by your wrist down the street.

"Slow down!" You groaned as you jogged to catch up to the angry boys pace. He slowed slightly when he heard you panting.

"I have a question." You asked as you looked up at him. He side eyed you and hummed as an indication for you to continue.

"Why did you decide to be friends with me?" You had been curious ever since the question came up at dinner and you had no real explanation.

Katsuki mumbled to himself slightly before looking at the sky and answering. "Well at first I really did just want to fight someone who had the same quirk as me but when I got to know you I realised that you weren't as annoying as the rest of the extras in class. Also when you stole those points from me in the entrance exam I could tell that you weren't spineless. That took balls. So I...kinda respected you for it. Even if I wanted to kill you for it at first."

You smiled at his answer. Laughing at the memory of your entrance exam revenge scheme.

Your house came into view as you rounded a corner quietly with your favourite explosion boy.

"It feels like that summer camp never happened." You sighed as you looked back up at Katsuki. He turned his head to look at you. Scanning the emotions shown on your face. He also sighed and shrugged. "It's not exactly how I wanted to spend the week with you." He laughed. Your heart flipped in your chest.

You stopped outside of your front door. Secretly sad that your time with Katsuki had come to an end for now. You turned around to see that he was waiting to see that you had entered the house before leaving himself. You smiled and wrapped your good arm around him in another difficult hug.

"Thanks for worrying about me so much but you really don't have to." You giggled.

"Tch. You're such a clutz that anything could happen. Like I said before. I can't let you out of my sight." He huffed and placed his hand on top of your head and ruffled your hair. As you pulled away from the hug you leaned up on your tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek quickly.

"Thank you Katsuki." You smiled widely at him. His jaw fell slack and his face was bright red.

"Y-yeah you're welcome or w-whatever." He stammered as you walked back to your house. You opened your front door and looked back over your shoulder to see him still stood there. His eyebrows where furrowed and his palm was smooshed firmly agains the cheek you had kissed. You waved at him before rushing in and closing the door.

'Ugh Why did I kiss him that was so embarrassing! I bet he hated it!' You thought as you groaned and dragged your hands down your face.

'What the...ARGH! Why did I just stand there! Idiot idiot IDIOT! I should've kissed HER, not the other way around damnit! Maybe I should ask that shitty hair for help.' Katsuki's mind raced as he made his way back home, all the while keeping his hand pressed against the cheek that you had kissed.

The lyrics of that corny Disney song from before echoed through his head. 'Stupid crab.'
