KARTIK'S POV

I looked at Naira. Naira looked at me. I looked at her nervously and awkwardly. She looked at me in shock.

"You!!", we said in unison referring to each other.

"What are you doing here?", I asked her.

"This is my house. I've every reason to stay here. What are you doing here? KG...the sales man ", Naira looked at me confused. I rolled my eyes.

"See...you may have parents to pay your college fees...I'm on my own. I need to earn for myself", I explained her and she looked at me.

"I'm a waitress", she replied. I looked at her shocked.

"You are?", I asked her confused.

"I work in a restaurant down the road. Yes, I've parents but they don't care about me. I need to look after myself. They just provide me a shelter and gimme some food to survive", Naira said and I nodded not knowing what to respond.

"You can go...I don't wanna buy anything from you!", she said and she was about to close the door that I stopped her.

"You should buy something! I haven't sold any product today....just buy something so I can earn some penny. You see this shampoo....hairitage u won't ever be bald using this shampoo. Please buy something bro...I need to pay my rent", I pleaded her for the first time in my life.

Naira looked at me for few seconds.

"Take this conditioner",I said and she nodded. I smiled brightly at her.

She took the conditioner and paid the money. I turned away to go just then I realised something. I turned back towards her.

"About the key chain...I'm sorry. I didn't know it meant so much for you!", I apologised and she sighed.

"It was my mom's last gift for me", she confessed and I felt so guilty at that moment.

"Oh.......shit! I'm sorry Naira...I'm really sorry. I mean it....I didn't know that. If I would've known I would've never done that", I said and she nodded.

I checked the time. I had to bring Elsa back from preschool.

"I must go now", I said walking away and she closed the door behind.

Still Kartik's PoV

I reached home with Elsa. The drive home was utter quiet. Elsa hadn't spoken any word. She just sat on the seat with an angry pout, crossing her arms across her chest.

I came out of the car. She came out through the other door and both of us walked into the house. She had been quiet throughout. Something's wrong with her. She always used to speak some nonsense.

I walked inside my bedroom and threw myself on the bed. I stretched my arms, releasing all the stress of the day. I laid my head on the pillow and closed my eyes to get some sleep.

"Mr. Kartik Goenka...", I heard Elsa's bossy voice. I sighed in disbelief and turned towards her to look at her, holding out her diary.

"What is this?", I asked her as I adjusted myself to sit on the bed.

"A complain about you", Elsa replied and I took the diary from her.

I looked at the note. I rolled my eyes after I completed reading the note. I forgot to pay her school fees.....I don't have any budget also. I looked at Elsa.

"Tell them to gimme a few days time...I'll pay the fees", I said and laid back on the bed. Elsa narrowed her eyes at me and sat on top of me.

"Get off kiddo", I said frustrated.

"Because of you I had to stand out of the classroom for the whole day. Just because you forgot to pay my school fees", she said and I looked up at her in shock.

"What?!", I said shocked.

"Yes", she said with her hands on her hips. I rose up and placed her down on the bed.

"And now you ask to give a few more days time...I'll have to stand out for a few days more I guess", she said shrugging her shoulders.

"You don't have to stand out. Why the hell did they tell you to stand out? Why did you agree? Nowadays schools have become business centres. Instead of education, they focus on money!", I said frustrated and Elsa looked at me.

"So are you paying or not?", Elsa asked me.

"Of course I'm paying. I will pay. I just need sometime to gather money", I said and she rolled her eyes.

"It wouldn't have happened if you didn't spend all your money in partying and clubbing. I should suffer now. And you forgot to pay my fees? You aren't interested in me any more right? You don't care about me!", Elsa shouted and she was getting on my nerves.

"Yes...I don't care about you. I don't want you also. You just came into my life without knocking. I shouldn't have taken you in. You think you're the only one who suffers?! I'm the one who suffers each and every day. I attend college, I study my ass off, I work just to give you a decent life and you're blaming me. I should be the one to blame you. You ruined my life. It was running so smoothly until you entered. I could not focus on my career....because I had a baby to take care of. Sometimes I think my life would've been so much beautiful without you in it. You ruined everything", I yelled at her, letting all my feelings out. Her eyes were red and puffy, filled with tears. She was looking at me with anger and hurt in her eyes.

"I hate you!", she shouted and bolted out of my bedroom.

I sighed in defeat and closed my eyes.

I shouldn't have spoken that....I shouldn't have!

I opened my eyes and rubbed my forehead. I took a deep breath and walked out of the bedroom, looking for her.

"Elsa!!", I called her but she was nowhere to be found.

"Els-", I began to say but just then, I found her. She had collapsed down on the floor. Her eyes were closed. She wasn't moving.

"Elsa!!", I murmured with a shaking voice and rushed towards her.

"Elsa....honey, what's wrong?!", I asked her taking her into my lap and patting her face. She wasn't waking up. I sprinkled water on her face but she wasn't waking up then also.

I picked her up in my arms and rushed towards the car. I held her close to my chest and drove her towards the hospital.
