(~Mutt's POV~)

I jolt awake, sitting on the cave floor with my back against the wall. Besides the coldness of the stone wall seeping through the back of my jacket, I feel warm? That's rare except when M'lord lets me sleep in the house instead of the shed. I look down, trying to find out the cause of the heat, just to find Y/N sleeping against my chest.

'?!!?!? OH MY GOD!'

I know I'm blushing. In the dark, I can easily see the orange glow coming from my cheeks. I felt my face heat up. I tried to process what happened to get me to this point.

'The last thing I remember is using healing magic for her arm.'

I sat completely still.

'I can't wake her up.. Should I? Heck..'

I slowly reach my hand in my pocket and internally panicked when Y/N re-positioned her arms tighter around me. It was a careful process but I manage to take my phone out of my pocket without waking her up. I clicked the power on and it blinded me. The brightness is a pure spotlight in the darkness that covered the room. I quickly turned the brightness down, hearing Y/N wince and turn her head away from the sudden light. Anxiety hits me in the chest like a brick as I see the time.. It's early in the morning, the next day. I've been gone for an entire day.

'I'm definitely not getting fed anytime soon. When Sans finds me, I'm so dead..'

All my progress, wasted. Of course, I'm still starving but after behaving for so many weeks; M'lord was just starting to give me treats every now and then.

'Speaking of eating, when's the last time Y/N ate?..'

I'm about to find out, she stretches and let out a small yawn as she wakes up. She took one look at me and my, most likely blushing, face before realizing how close she was. She shrieked and pushed herself away, "HOLY CRAP! I'M SORRY!!" I flinch at her screaming, it echoes through the caverns. Y/N covered her mouth and her face blushed bright red, no doubt embarrassed.

'Well good morning to you too..'

I stay quiet, slipping my phone back into my pocket. Messing with my hands, I decide to spare her the embarrassment of having to talk about what just happened. I change the subject and quietly ask, "Y/N, w-when's the l-l-last time you ate?" I finally calm down enough for my blush to disappear. She looks over to her backpack, positioned right behind her. Y/N replies as she starts to dig around in her bag, "I think it's been a day or two, I can't really keep track of time in here. The real question we should be asking is are you okay? You totally blacked out after the healing thing."

'Crap, I forgot about that..'

A bit embarrassed, I pull my hood over my head, "Oh, s-sorry.. Monsters t-try to avoid using healing m-magic. Even i-if you're only using it f-f-for a little w-while at f-full concentration, i-i-it's exhausting. On top of that, I-I haven't s-s-slept in a while so..." She pulls out two granola bars from her bag and asked another question, "You have insomnia?" ..... M'lord beat and tortured me out of my usual sleeping habits. I don't want to scare her by saying something like that so I just shook my head, "N-no.." Y/N stared at me for a minute in silence as if she could sense my fear. I AM starting to get nervous that she will pry into it more. Yet, Y/N decided to just ignore it and replied, "Oh, well I'm an insomniac so I don't get much sleep sometimes..... Here-" She offered me one of her granola bars, "You must be hungry too, right? I mean, I'm pretty sure you don't have a stomach but something has to keep you alive." I grab the granola bar from her and just stared at it.

'Is she really giving me permission to eat it or is this a test of obedience? Is this poison? No! Why would a hiker pack poisonous food in their bag..?'

I looked up at Y/N and she gave me a gentle smile of reassurance, "It's okay, Papyrus. You can have it. Look, I'll eat one too." She unwraps her snack and took a bite out of it, then licked her lips, "Mmm, (your favorite flavor). I'm so glad I packed these.." She looks over to me and saw that I had gobbled up the granola bar she gave me in about 3 seconds, crumbs of it scattered on my jacket.

'Well this is embarrassing..'

Her eyes widened, "OKAY, so you are hungry? Uhm.. Want another one?" I look down at the floor, ashamed to make eye contact with her. The room was silent for a moment until I heard her speak again. Her voice is soft and sympathetic, like how a parent talks to an upset child, "Papyrus.. It's okay to say you want another one. It seems like you haven't eaten anything in a while." Y/N reached into her bag, grabbing another granola bar and handing it to me, then she took a second bite out of hers.

(~Your POV~)

He glanced up at me, giving me a confused look while arching one of his eyebrows, "A-Are you j-just saying that because I'm a-a-a skeleton?" I choked on my granola bar, coughing and trying not to spit it up as I started laughing. Once I calmed down enough and managed to swallow my food, I answer him, "No, it's because I've never seen a decently fed person eat that fast." I watch him as he looks down at his second granola bar and unwrapped it, eating it much slower than the first.

'*sigh* ..Why is he so adorable?'
