"Yes, Maman. Remember I didn't know who he was until after we'd met up like twice."

"Yeah but that's including the time you met, that was an accident and shouldn't count." Kim countered. She gave him a look that said, 'Do you really want me to take your dessert away?' Kim licked his brownie defiantly and they laughed, soon enough her parents had to get back to bed so they could be well-rested when they opened the bakery.

"Bye, Maman! Bye, Papa!"

"Marinette before we go, we saw something else... about that Adrian boy grabbing you in the airport. Are you sure your okay? You don't want to come home?"

"Trust me, the last thing I want to do right now is be anywhere near him. I'm okay, I just want this to blow over a little more. So is it alright if we go back when we planned?"

"Of course, Honey. We just want what's best for you." At that reassurance from Sabine, the family said their goodbyes and hung up the phone.

"Don't look at me like that, it's not like I told them." Marinette just rolled her eyes, he definitely had something to do with it. Marinette took a breath before asking her friend.

"Do you think it's going to get bad? or well, worse?" He swallowed his brownie.

"What is, Nettie? Cause if you're worried about the whole relationship with Damian and him being a celebrity they made it sound like a big deal that there were people there." Kim tried to comfort her.

"No, not that. I mean the class, if they found out... Lila would have a bunch of tabloids as fuel to the flame, all of them theorizing that I'm just a gold digger. Do you think school's gonna get worse?" Marinette sounded worried, sure there were less than two months left in the school year and she had her friends to help her but they couldn't always be there, they had their own lives to live.

"Hey, don't worry you've got me and the girls. Besides your a badass, you can handle yourself even without fighting, remember Agreste at the airport? You did that with your words because you're smart. So don't doubt yourself." Kim reassured her, Marinette honestly didn't really know how it had happened but she had her friends and family, not to mention the fact that she and Damian were alright so at least she knew she could count on those she cared about.

Kim and Marinette ended up binge-watching movies until well after nightfall, the boy leaving to talk to his boyfriend and go to bed after what had to be their fifth movie. Marinette texted Damian goodnight, assuming he was on patrol and was a little surprised to see that he immediately replied.

I was, Chloe freaked out when she saw. My parents did too, I was so scared they were gonna be mad that they hadn't been the first I told, but they were just really excited. My poor Papa had to listen to my Maman scream about me 'finally' getting a boyfriend.
