Rays of Mankind

No matter who you are;

No matter where you're from;

No matter what colors are you;

Please have a sense of humanity, because, without it, you might snatch away a family's happiness, and shifting a hopeful future to a tantalizing future.

The whoosh of traffics and honking cars,

Passerby yelling to the obnoxious drivers,

Footsteps shuffling along the dusty hallway,

A scent of freshly brewed coffee from the finest beans,

Aah! my typical Monday morning,

Putting on my favorite ebony skirts,

Heels clicking on the pavement,

Greetings familiar faces I passed,

The ray that shines through gaps in a cloud,

Glowing and shimmering as it hits their skin,

A euphoric scene that I wish will stay,

Till the sky falls apart.

Parent's chatter while waiting for their children fills the air,

Their endless laughter sent warmth to my skin,

Genuine hug to each other gets me whistling and humming,

Rhythmic sound of joggers' feet hitting the pavement dwindle,

Signaling us that the sun will soon sink below the horizon,

In a second the sun's hue dimmed,

A deep pink, purple and oranges painted the blue sky.

Scenes of the entire day vividly creeps in my mind,

I laid on my neatly done bed,

Wishing tomorrow will be the same; perhaps better than today,

And what makes the scenes mesmerizing is the contrast,

When differences embraced, the world become worth living,

Rainbow has seven rays of colors; humankind has more,

That's what makes our world beyond beauty.

Our colors might vary,

But we are all man of dust,

Our souls breathed into us with love,

So live with that beautiful soul,

And welcome the dissimilarities with warmth,

Because love; humanity exists in diversity.
