"We only have fifteen minutes people!" I yelled across the small crowd, beginning to bite at my nails in frustration. "Let's pick up the pace a little!"

While we were somewhat behind schedule, the party was already looking pretty amazing. Two picnic tables were placed on the north and south ends of the space, drinks and cookies topping them off in huge mountains, as well as a large boombox still blasting beach music in the corner. Covering all this, was a large canopy like tent that we had worked forever to find in the main cabin. It sheltered everything perfectly, and with fairy lights dangling down, it provided an almost..magical look.

"Vie," Julia smiled, jogging up to me, clipboard in hand. "Is there anything else that needs doing?" She handed me her papers, as I flipped through.

I smiled at her, handing her the papers back. "Honestly? I think we're done."

She let out a squeal of excitement, high fiving me gently. "I'll go round up everyone else."

I smiled at her as she skipped off, sitting myself down gently on the soft grass. The party planning was done.

And honestly? It was a pretty bittersweet moment for me. On the one hand, getting to finally say goodbye to stressful nights full of planning and being yelled at by Mrs. P, but on the other hand, this was the end of a chapter of my life. This party represented the end of summer, the end of warm weather, and the end of that beautiful blissful feeling of having no responsibilities. And that feeling might be a little harder to let go of than I had previously thought.

"Hey." Sadie said, smiling at me as she sat down breaking me out of my thoughts.

The rest of my friends all sat down in a circle beside us, grinning ear to ear with our accomplishment.

"Hey." I smiled back at her. "Anyways, as you guys all know...we're done!"

Cheers erupted from the group as high fives were thrown across the circle. "I was talki-"

"Wait," Aaliyah said, interrupting me. "What time is it?"

I glanced down at my watch, then back at her. "Five fifty five."

Her eyes went wide as she whapped me on the knee. "What the fuck?!" A confused look painted my face as she pushed herself off the floor. "We have to get changed!!"

"Oh my god." I sighed, pushing my face into my hands. She was right.

My hair was in a huge messy bun, dirt on my hands, with an old dirty grey sweatshirt thrown over my shoulders. And I was probably the cleanest person of my friend group right now.

No one moved, too shocked with our own stupidity.

Aaliyah began to take off running, turning around just in time."What are you idiots waiting for?! Move, move, move!"

I threw myself up from the ground, running as fast as I could down the gravely dirt path through the forest. Our cabin wasn't far from here- no more than two or three minutes, but between slipping on clothes that didn't look like they were just dragged out of a dumpster, and taking our atrocious hairdos down, we would be at least ten minutes late.
