No One's POV
"Zak, honey! Hurry up! I have to go to work soon!" Zak's mother calls from the bottom of the stairs. She sighs as she hears a small voice calling back, declaring they are on their way. She walks to the kitchen and grabs her son's backpack and lunch. She carefully places the lunch box inside the backpack and hears footsteps walking towards her.
She turns around and looks down to see Zak standing their with the biggest grin on his face. "You ready for school?"
Zak nods, stretching his hands out to beg for the backpack. She hands the bag to Zak and grabs his free hand as he places the bag on his back. "Alright, lets go."
Zak cheers as he follows his mother to her car.

Zak stares at the large campus in front if him. Zak's mother has parked the car and she is holding Zak's hand as they walk to the front campus. There are children everywhere. Zak watches as children are walking with their parents to their classes. Some are excited, others are crying, others just don't care. elevate He hums as he skips with his mother, walking through the campus and reaching a classroom where the door is open and some children with their parents are walking inside.
Zak and his mother follow suit. They reach the inside of the classroom and there by the door, a nice looking lady is greeting the parents.
"Hello! Is Zak Ahmed enrolled here?" His mother asks, the teacher looking through her clipboard and soon finding his name.
"Ah yes, here he is." The teacher smiles and she looks down at me. "Hello Zak. My name is Miss. Finn."
Zak smiles back, greeting himself. The teacher tells him to go find a seat. His mother places a small kiss on Zak's forehead and bids him farewell. Then she is soon out of his sight.
Zak looks around the class and there were a couple other students inside. Many tables were formed into groups and a couple groups were full while others had one or two students sat at them.
Zak find a group of two. They seemed nice. One had brown hair with glasses and the other had dirty blonde hair and a small crown on his head. He walks over to the table and places his bag on the ground.
"Hi! I'm Zak!"
The two boys smile and introduce themselves.
"Hello! I'm Vincent. This is Dave!"
——
Class went by smoothly. Recess is about to start and Zak made new friends. Vincent and Dave were cool and they had lots of laughs.
The teacher was nice.
But one kid stood out to Zak.
He sat in the corner of the class at a table with someone else. The two wouldn't talk to each other at all. One would talk with another group by them. But the other would just stare at his table and not pay attention. He seemed sad. He seemed lost.
He did talk a couple times. That was when the teacher asked him to answer questions, which he got right.
The bell rang and students were running out if the class. The teacher follows them and calls at them to stop running. Zak watches as the lost boy stands up slowly and pushes his glasses up.
He doesn't notice Zak watching him as he walks out of the classroom.
Zak huffs and runs after the boy.
They reach outside and they are making their way to the playground. The playground was filled with students. So many were running around as teachers just stay on guard in case of an incident.
Zak watches as the boy walks over to a tree in the playground. He goes behind the tree and sits down, avoiding contact with anyone.
(damn, this is one depressed dude)
Zak walks over and goes around the tree, making his way in front of the boy.
The boy spots Zak's shoes in front of him and looks up. He has the look of fear and horror glimmering in his eyes, which makes Zak concerned.
"Oh... uh... hi..." The boy mutters, moving his hands onto his lap and fiddling with his sleeves.
Zak smiles and sits down in front of him. "Hi! I'm Zak! I say you sat alone in class today. Want to be friends!?" Zak grins, his smile radiating hope towards the boy.
The boy's eyes widen and he shakes his head. "I don't know... I've never had a friend before..."
Zak frowns, crossing his legs and putting his elbows on his knees. He places his chin in his hand, "Well then..." He then turns his frown upside down. "I can be your first friend! No one deserves to be alone." Zak hums as he watches the boy look up at Zak.
A small glimmer of light is seen in his calm emerald eyes as he hesitates to accept. "Really?" The boy asks, making Zak nod. The boy then slowly smiles, "My name is Darryl."
Zak grins and lifts his hand up towards Darryl, wanting a handshake. "Hi Darryl, I can't wait to have a lot of fun with you! I bet you are really cool!" Zak complements a bit as he watches Darryl's eyes light up. "Also, your eyes are really cool. I like green."
Small Darryl smiles as he feels his heart skip a beat in happiness. Finally, after three years of school, he finally made a friend.
