When the day finally came, Damian was woken up at five thirty. Mar'i was jumping on his bed shouting out,
"It's our birthday! We're a whole year older! Isn't it great uncle Dami? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" Damian groaned and uselessly places his pillow on top of his head.
"All I want for my birthday is to sleep." Damian whineed, he'd had a particularly rough night, dealing with Bane as he tore through downtown.
"But Auntie Nettie is coming!!! And we can't forget about our party!"
"She won't be here for three hours, and you mean your party that I will be attending. Now that I'm up, why don't we go find Pennyworth, perhaps you two could prepare something for breakfast."
"Yeah! OH! We could eat the Dutch kids! Like Auntie Nettie makes?" Damian inwardly chuckled.
"I will ask her for the Dutch babies recipe, go inform Pennyworth." Mar'i quickly made her way out of the room to go bother someone else, Damian texted Marinette and she promptly sent the recipe and instructions. He forwarded the recipe to Pennyworth before going back to sleep, he was going to need his energy if he was going to have to attend a princess party of all things on his birthday.
Damian awoke approximately two hours after Mar'i's intrusion. He promptly brushed his teeth and shaved before changing, deciding to brush his hair later on. As Damian was getting ready, he heard the old floor boards creak behind him, he had only done his shirt's first button when he turned around.
He saw Marinette with bags, boxes and balloons piled in her arms as she walked through the portal with three small beings floating behind her.
In that moment, both blushed considerably but Marinette quickly got over her shock. There Damian stood with disheveled hair, and a hardly buttoned shirt as Marinette stared appreciatively, putting the gifts down as she sauntered toward her boyfriend.
"Lets get you dressed shall we?" Jamilati said this as she began buttoning his shirt for him, her fingers ocassionally brushing past the buttons to his chest. Damian swallowed dryly.
"Happy birthday, Mon Chevallier." She finally said as she leaned in for a kiss, it had been too long.
Damian leaned down so his lips could meet hers, as if on autopilot Damian's hands grabbed her waist and hers went to his neck and hair. Their lips met, his mind zeroed in on Marinette's smooth kiss before he was overwhelmed by Marinette's smell. She smelled like warm bread and flour. His mind was then ushered to the feeling of her pressed against him before he heard the soft sound her sigh. Damian felt at home as he opened his eyes, pulling apart, neither were entirely satisfied especially after so long apart. He rested his forehead against hers, brushing his thumb across her cheek.
"I missed you, Jamilati."
"Every day." Marinette finished before pecking him on the lips as she took a step back to pick up the gifts.
"Alrighty, birthday boy! Where's your twin? We've got a lot of celebrating to do!"
"This way-." Damian stopped himself, almost calling her the nickname he'd been trying to hold off on using.
"Okay! Let's go!" Jamilati grabbed his hand and made her way in the opposite direction of nearly everything, the only thing the the right of Damian's room was more bedrooms and a ballroom. Damian pulled her in the opposite direction, taking some of the things she was trying to juggle out of her hands.
"Why did you bring so many things? All of this better not be for Mar'i and I. Even Grayson wouldn't let her have this much sugar." Marinette giggled at Damian's comment and replied.
