"You get to see me, but I don't get to see you?" He replies giggling
"I...I don't look my best right now" you say back
"Aw come on Y/n, I feel like it would be impossible for you to look bad, even on your worst days." He says
You can't help but giggle
"Show me your beautiful faceeee" he says dragging out his last word as he stretched out on his bed
You couldn't help but give in, so you showed your face to him, avoiding looking at your screen.
"There she is" he says smiling, now causing you to chuckle as you look back at him.
"Stop." You say playfully
"Alright alright, oh yeah I forgot to get my candy from your bag. I remembered as I was driving away but I figured I'd leave you be." He says
"Oh yeah, well my mother kinda took that and ate it for herself." You confess.
"I don't blame her." He says giggling.
"...you know, you have a nice accent." You say, suddenly having a burst of confidence
"Well thank you." He says almost shyly.
"I'm guessing English isn't your first language..." You tease.
"Nope" he giggles, "It's Korean. I've been studying English for a while back in Korea though, so when the opportunity came up for someone at my job to travel over here for a report project, I took it" he admits
"That's so cool. What are you comparing what life is like here versus what it's like in Korea? And I also know a little bit of Korean myself..." you admit
"Yeah something like that." He says giggling "But you know Korean? No way, say something!"
"Uhh okay... 안녕하세요, 저는 (y/n) 입니다. (Hello, my name is y/n)
"Wow!" He replies as he claps
You giggle at his reaction to such a simple phrase
"I mean your basically fluent!" He teases
"I'd like to believe so. I've studied the language for long enough..." you giggle
"Have you ever been to Korea?" He asks
"No, my mom would never allow that." You say lowly
"But...you're a grown woman, not a child." He replies
"That's true, but she needs me. I'm the only person with a job in this house...so I'm the only provider." You admit
"What about your father?" He asks
You hesitate and look down
"He's...he passed away a couple years ago" you admit
"Oh, I'm so sorry" he says
"It's okay, life has to go on." You say sadly but force a smile "Besides he will always be with me in my heart"
"That's a good way to look at it" he says
You then look at the time, 11:00pm. You sigh realizing you have work way too damn early in the morning.
"What's wrong?" He asks
"I have to go to sleep soon, I have work early in the morning tomorrow" you say resentfully
"Don't tell me you're going to walk there..." he starts
"No no, I'll be using the car this time" you giggle
"Good. Well I don't want to hold you up, go get your beauty sleep princess, I'll talk to you later" he says You smile as you feel your cheeks heat up
"Okay, goodnight" you say to him
"Goodnight, sweet dreams!" He says and with that, you hang up.
You put your phone on your nightstand and plug in your charger. Then flop back down on your bed, snuggling under your covers, smiling to yourself at Jong-Suk's nickname for you.
"Princess"
