"Grace!" I ignored him as I still couldn't believe the thing that I witnessed just now. He tried to grab my wrist for second time but I jerked away my hand from him as soon as possible. "I can explain," he stood exactly in front of me and due to our disproportionate heads, I had to moved my head to look at him in his eyes.

I didn't even move or respond to him. Instead, I clenched my teeth and looked at the guy who was beaten by Chris. Some people slowly disassembled as the guy was brought to the nearby clinic by a car of one of the spectators. When there were just me, Chris and Ken left, I took a step so our faces were closer.

"So tell me, who is the next person you're going to victimise?" I asked.

"Grace..."

He didn't even get the chance to finish his line when I cut him off. "What do you want?" I yelled. Realizing that the situation was going intense, Ken excused himself to stay out of it. Leaving me and Chris alone. "Chris, it's not even a week! Stop beating people, don't show your thuggish behaviour outside of the school. You are a grown-up now," I couldn't hide my furious face.

"I'm sorry," he exclaimed slowly.

"You're not being sorry," I whispered. "You're just sorry for being caught by me."

Chirs gasped. "I need time to explain," he said.

I chuckled satirically. "Time? Explain? I gave you plenty of time more than you deserve," I looked at him. "Or should I just consider it as a stupid excuse? For justifying your bad decision, bad behaviour, for lying to me," I exclaimed.

"I know, and I'm so sorry for that," he repeated.

"It's true eventually. When they label you as a thug, they are saying the truth," I continued. "Who are you, Chris?" I frowned.

Out of the blue, a tiny knife fell on the ground beside Chris's shoes. We exchange a glance as I gasped. A second later, I backed out and started to run. I took out my phone and I dialled Gabriel's number.

"Ssup, Katie," Gabriel answered the call several seconds later.

"Gabe," I gasped. I hid behind a wall so Chris wouldn't find me.

"Katie, are you okay?" Gabriel sounded worried.

"Um..." I struggled to catch a breath. "It's Chris. He has... a knife. I... I... I don't have any idea what he was doing with that... damn thing," I gasped and stammered.

"Where are you?" Gabriel asked.

"I..." I sneaked my head out to see the signboard of the shop that I hid behind. "It's a... it's a barbershop. Near Jeremy's cafe," I told him.

"I will arrive in 3 minutes," Gabriel instantly end the call.

I was sweating and I felt goosebumps the entire time I was hiding. When I tried to sneak a peek at the roadside to see whether Chris was still there or not, a person covered my mouth and pulled me to the back. Surprisingly, it was Chris. Initially, I was struggling to let myself go from him.

"It's me," he whispered.

He leaned my head on his chest and we were quietly hiding. His chest was rising upwards and inwards as well as mine. A second later, a few guys walked past the shop that we were hiding. It's Carter and his mates. Afterwards, Chris looked at the roadside and when there was no sign of Carter, he let go of me.

"You okay?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes at him. "What's with that guy again?" I asked. He didn't respond yet so I sighed heavily. "Need time to explain too?" He nodded.

I fix the tote bag staps at my shoulder and then, Gabriel arrived with his bike.

"Grace," he called me helplessly.
