Body Memory

The rain soacked his clothes through and through, Kaito's body the only source of warmth in the vicinity. He had to get him - and himself, too - out of the rain soon.
In lack of any other option he hoisted Kaito against his right shoulder, shifting the weight so he had his left hand free. He wouldn't be able to hold him like that forever but he just needed one minute. Already aching because of the heavy, unmoving body on him, he fumbled for his smartphone. It took him about 20 seconds to text Baa-chan.

Half an hour later they arrived at his home. Saguru took the burden on him to carry the magician to his house because - well, who else could? Instead of the uncomfortable way he had held him before, he grabbed him behind his back and under his knees to carry him princess-like. And God help him if that yerk ever finds out!
Kaito hadn't woken once, obviously sound asleep and quite content with his surroundings. There was no possibility yet to check on his wounds though he was sure Kaito would have treated them already when they met in the alley. Perhaps this was the ultimate reason he passed out on him.

"Bo-chama, I allowed myself to prepare the guestroom."

"Thank you, Baa-chan."

He groaned under his breath. The old housekeeper lead him to a room well-known by Saguru. He manoeuvred his way through the door, carefully avoiding the doorframe. As he finally lowered him to the neatly made bed Saguru was not only drenched by the rain but in sweat, too.

"Could you..."

"Of course. I take care of him while you should take a shower."

Once again she read his mind. Saguru was glad about her crisp and short character, he excused himself with a small smile and headed for his rooms. He owned a small part of this house, the rest literally deserted by means of too few family members. There was plenty of space, yet he and Baa-chan had this huge manor mostly for themselves. His parents sometimes visited but they hardly stayed over.
Saguru didn't mind at all. He was used to living on his own and he liked his quiet home where he could easily wander through every room when he felt like it, thinking about his cases and not getting disturbed by anyone - except for Watson, that is. His beloved falcon even had his separate room.

Saguru got rid of his wet clothes, carelessly dumping them in the bathroom, and entered the shower. When he turned on the water and had tested with his hand that it was immediately heated up, he stepped under the spray. He relaxed at once, feeling the damp cold leaving his body. Relishing the warmth first on his skin, then seeping into his muscles right to his bones, he closed his eyes. With his hands, he steadied himself on the wall, enjoying the tingling sensation in his neck. What an evening...
He breathed out deeply, his mind wandering back to Kaito. Never before had he picked up a "stray cat", let alone brought it home. Thank God Baa-chan knew all his classmates and even his suspicions about Kaito being the Kaito Kid or else his actions would arouse many questions.
Saguru stiffened slightly to the touch of hands at his waist, the tension falling away as soon as he felt a second body at his back, the sweet smell of chocolate tickling his nose. The arms wrapped themselves around his belly, keeping him close enough so he could sense the other's cheek against his sensitive neck.

He jerked upright and spun, ready to slap or shove the other away - and found himself being completely alone. What the hell...
This thief was actually driving him insane. He wiped the water droplets off his face, scrubbed himself with the sponge roughly to rid his body memory of the feeling of hands on it. Sadly enough, he wasn't nearly as effective as he wanted. Without thinking about it, Saguru knew immediately whose hands had touched him. Had he been half asleep already? What other explanation could there be?

Sighing, he shut off the shower and grabbed a beach towel. The steam made itself visible on the mirror and he quickly wiped it. Yes, his eyes definitely made for a good excuse. He hadn't been this tired when he went to the heist. No matter how late, he hadn't been this tired at any heist, to say the least. But then he never faced an injured thief before. With all consequences to come.

Saguru twisted his face into a grimace and threw the towel into the laundry. First of all, he needed to find out how bad it was. Kaito mentioned some bruised ribs, nothing too troublesome. But him passing out meant he probably worsened his injuries at the heist. Saguru had to know for sure.

He made his way back to the guest room just in time to see Baa-chan tugging Kaito in. A still blacked out Kaito as Saguru noticed with worry. At least he was dry and comfortable enough. A lamp was turned on on the bedside table. Baa-chan smoothed the blanket and stepped back. She folded her hands neatly in front of her and took a short bow.

"I allowed myself to dress him in one of your pyjamas since I assumed you wouldn't mind, Bo-chama. He seems to rather be asleep than unconscious though I noticed some pretty dark bruises at the left side of his chest. If you are alright with it, I would prepare a late dinner for both of you. In case he wakes later."

"Thank you."

Saguru nodded silently and Baa-chan bowed again before she made her way out. So...

"Here we are now, Kuroba..."

It was eerily quiet all of a sudden. For a long moment he just stood and stared, watching the thief intently - something he never managed to do in school. Not for long that is. Whenever Kaito became aware of it, he would always start to act out. Doing a trick, shouting in the middle of the class, teasing Aoko. That boy couldn't sit still for one second, least of all when he was being monitored. And he was one hell of a showman, deciding carefully whose attention he wanted to draw. That much Saguru could tell since their very first meeting.

Curiosity getting the better of him Saguru moved up to the bed and squinted his eyes. Kaito seemed calm enough, his chest rising and falling consistently. He leaned in, wondering for a second if he should take a look at the bruises. He doubted Baa-chan spared them more than a glance when she bandaged him. His look fell on the hands of the sleeping thief that were laying upon the blanket. Slender, elegant hands that were practically made for wrapping themselves around a waist...

"This is sexual harassment."
