Let's go back to how it all started.
Y/N's POV
"Watch where you're going!"
The driver flipped me off while I was walking down the crosswalk. Muttering in annoyance, I continued my way over to the grocery store. Shivering in the cold, I blew on my hands and rubbed them. After that, I stuffed them in my pockets. I picked up the pace and rushed over to the building. I stepped inside and looked over the list I wrote.
Milk, cereal, mushrooms, bread, green onions, etc.
I cursed silently at my mom for asking me to buy this many. She stayed outside, waiting for me as I tried to find everything that was on the list. While looking for the food items, I spotted someone familiar. I only saw the back of his head. I shook my head and didn't think much about it until I heard his voice. I spun around and got the side of his face.
Oh shit.
Luckily, he didn't see me. I ran to another aisle with the cart and quickly found the remaining items.
Damn. I don't have anything to cover my face.
I walked to the cashier and loaded everything onto the cashier line. I tapped my foot anxiously as I looked behind me for the familiar person. I then heard a different voice but knew too well who this is.
"That will be $23.97, ma'am."
I looked over the cashier's shoulder to see Jak working as the cashier. It seems that he has been working here for a while.
Oh my god. Did Jak move here?
I heard the first voice behind me, and I glanced over to see Dave. Fortunately, he was talking on his phone.
What bad luck.
I quickly paid the groceries and rushed out.
When I was walking to my mom's car, someone behind me called me, "Is that Y/N?"
Oh shit, it's Dave! I'll pretend as nothing happened. I pushed the cart to my mom's car, and I loaded everything in the trunk.
"Y/N! Wait!"
Aish, why does he have to see me here?
I hopped in the car and urged my mom to drive. My mom gave me a weird look but drove off anyway.
Sorry, Dave. I can't meet up with someone like that.
The next day
Finally, the bell rings.
I packed up my stuff and walked over to my usual spot to eat my lunch. I sat on the bench that is behind the school, facing the student parking lot. I could hear the screaming and yell from behind me, but that's none of my business. I opened my lunch bag to pull out my lunch when I heard a voice next to my ear.
"BOO!"
I jumped and whipped my head to see Dave. "Dammit, Dave." He chuckled, and I made room for him to sit.
"Why do you always do this, Dave?"
"Because it's entertaining."
"I hate you, Dave."
He laughed a little and brought up a topic. "I saw you at the grocery market." I froze but continued eating my lunch.
"Oh. So you did."
"Yeah. I called you, but you didn't hear me."
I shrugged, "Sorry. I didn't hear."
He scooted a little closer to me, and I grew uncomfortable.
The hell is he doing?
I hurried away from him, and he continued to scoot closer.
What the actual hell?
I stood up and looked at him.
"Dave? Is there something going on?"
He had this weird look on his face, and I grew a little frightened.
"Dave? What's wrong?"
He opened his mouth, and the bell rang.
"Well, I hope you'll feel better next Monday."
I picked up my stuff and went to the last class of the day. I felt eyes staring at the back of my head.
What is this bad luck?
