Hannah Washington and Bonnie Pierce stood in the master bathroom of the Washington Lodge at the top of Blackwood Mountain, Bonnie paced from one side of the bathroom to the other while Hannah watched her intently, "Calm down." Hannah reminded.
Bonnie's eyes snapped the young slightly younger girl, halting her pacing just a few feet from the youngest of the Washington twins, she had known Beth for the better part of their lives, ever since she struck a friendship with their older brother Josh Washington, whom she had begun dating in middle school, a relationship lasting them till that very day.
"Hannah, this could determine our whole future." Bonnie claims, her voice heavy with emotion, Hannah rolls her eyes behind her frames and looks at the young woman who she considers a sister and replies "You know Josh's opinion on the matter, as well as mine and Beth's and mom and dad's." Though her words were meant to soothe the brunette before her, they only unsettled her even more.
Bonnie wrapped her arms around her body and sat on the edge of the large tub, "You are a Washington already, married to Josh, dating Josh or single. Mom didn't give you a set of keys for nothing." Hannah reminded her.
Hannah was a sweet girl, sometimes way in over her head, unlike her twin who was more grounded, her crush on a fellow member of their group of friends was something that wasn't necessarily a secret but it was one of the few subjects that Bonnie served as the younger Washington twin's confidant.
"Besides I don't know why you're so worried, they've all been negative until now." Hannah reminded, walking towards her sister figure and sitting beside her, "I know." Bonnie insisted, moving her head to the side, Hannah smiled at her slightly and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a side hug.
"When did you grow up?" Bonnie said in soft yet teasing tone, attempting to calm her nerves, "When you and Josh were getting busy." Hannah teased in return, her cheeky side coming to play with one of the only 3 people it usually came out with. Bonnie let out a humourless chuckle and pulled away from the hug, looking at the youngest Washington completely.
"I hope I can be that happy one day." Hannah started, moving her eyes away from her sister figure and to the wall in front of them, "With Mike?" Bonnie questioned softly, not in a teasing tone, never in a teasing tone, she remembered when she, herself had a crush on Josh back when they were in middle school, never in a million years did she think, back then, that she would actually end up with him.
"I just..." Hannah started, quickly standing up and walking to the cabinets before them, "I love him Bon, and I know that he's dating and that it's childish." the last word slipping from her lips with disdain and hatred, it was a word that everyone used to describe her crush, Bonnie gave Hannah a small, slightly grim but comprehensive smile.
"It's not childish Han." Bonnie contradicted making Hannah look up at her, "Nobody knows how you feel, they can only guess." Hannah nodded at her and sighed "Why do I feel like there's a but coming." "But, Mike is dating Emily and most definitely a douche who won't treat you right." Bonnie continued.
Hannah nodded, knowing her words rang somewhat true, at least in her head, "But I won't tell you who to like, I can merely try to prevent you from getting your heartbroken." Bonnie continued, Hannah smiled at her slightly, knowing that Bonnie did indeed try and prevent her from getting hurt.
"I bet Josh and Chris are downstairs getting hammered." The youngest Washington diverted, something she did quite a lot when she didn't like the way the conversation was going, knowing this Bonnie chuckled and nodded, unwrapping her arms from her body and leaning back slightly, she was relaxed now, though not completely of course.
"Oh he is, for him to not have come up and stolen me from you he most definitely is ." Bonnie agreed, her hand running through her hair, pulling it away from her face. "How many years have you been together?" Hannah questioned, she knew the answer of course, her brother never really shut up about it.
"7 or 8 years now I think?" Bonnie thought out loud, her hand falling down to the locket around her neck, a 5 year anniversary present from Josh, which the twins picked out. "In general that is, because we broke up about a handful of times for a month or so before getting back together."
Her hazel eyes glanced down at her watch before she blew out a breath, three minutes to go.
"You don't have to stay here with me Han, you can go do your thing." Bonnie reminded, flashing her friend a kind smile, her anxiety returning slowly, "Are you sure? I don't mind staying here with you." Hannah frowned, "Trust me, don't stay here with me waiting for one lousy result." Bonnie confessed, both their eyes flashed to the border of the tub with the test lay upside down, the result facing the cold stone.
With one last look at the brunette Hannah nodded and walked out of the bathroom, her feet carrying her to the kitchen.
Inside were both her brother and Chris, his and Bonnie's best friend also since middle school, the self-proclaimed best man of their future wedding, knocked out, her twin sister was on the other side of the kitchen island making something to eat, "Any results yet?" Beth questioned, somehow knowing that it was her and not one of the other members of the group.
"Nothing yet." Hannah replied, "They've all been negative until now." Beth hummed and turned around to face the two passed out cold boys and her twin, "And one positive." she reminded, "At the beginning." Hannah countered, Beth rolled her eyes slightly and claimed "She wouldn't keep taking them if she wasn't unsure."
Beth was correct, like most times, "Can you imagine though, Josh would be over the moon." Beth continued, turning around back to whatever she was making. "Well, he is head-over-heels in love with Bon." Hannah chuckled as a piece of paper with Hannah written on it caught her attention.
Slowly she picked the paper up and read.
