Cytonic Bound (Discontinued)

Spin POV:

Morning couldn't have come any quicker. I had so many nightmares but none were as bad as the one I woke up Jorgen with because I screamed.

When Jorgen woke up the next morning, I apologized to him for waking him up that night. He just said not to worry about it and went to go shower.

Once Jorgen was done in the washroom I headed in to shower as well. When I came out, Jorgen was waiting for me because he apparently had to go and mark the way to the cavern where all the taynix's were.

"Do you want to come with me Spin?"

"Can it wait until after I meet Rikolfir?"

"Sure. Cobb just said that he wanted it done by tonight. He also said he wanted me to bring more of the slugs back with me."

"Then of course I'll go with you. I am used to exploring caves after all. You just spent your time at fancy parties for politics."

Jorgen rolls his eyes.

"Can you cone with me to check on Alanik before I meet Rikolfr?" I ask.

Jorgen walks over to me and holds out his hand. I take it and we head out the door and into the hospital wing.

We walk up to the front desk.

"Can I help you?" the nurse asks us.

"Yes, we would like to see Alanik of the UrDail," I respond.

"Sorry, but we aren't supposed to allow non-pilots into Alanik's room." She seems to notice our pins and she immediately follows up with, "I'm so sorry Lieutenant Nightshade. Of course you and your boyfriend are allowed in. Room 93. Down the hall and on your right." (A/N: I can't remember if they gave a specific room number for Alanik so I made one up)

We walk into Alanik's room and find three nurses doing some tests on her so we decide that we will come back before we head to make the path to the taynix's.

We head to meet Rikolfr and he lets me and Jorgen in.

"Lieutenant Nightshade. Thank you for coming. Jorgen can stay here if he is quiet while we record what happened," Rikolfr says.

After we were done with Rikolfr, we head to Alanik's room again. We didn't bother talking to the nurse this time and just head straight to Alanik.

When we get into Alanik's room, we find that she is awake.

"You are both cytonic," she points out. Her voice is raw from not having anything to drink since she crashed here.

"Yes, we are. I went in your place to the Superiority and found what I assume you were going for," I respond to her.

"You found out the secret of the hyperdrive so we can hyper jump safely and without using a cytonic."

"Yes."

"Please, Please tell me, my people need to know. Without me crashing here you wouldn't even know the secret right now, my people deserve to know," she says to us.

"Spin wait," Jorgen interjects. He gestures for me to follow him out of Alanik's room. I follow him out.

"We can't just tell her without asking Admiral Cobb, remember what happened when I told you to go to Starsight without consulting with him," Jorgen says.

"Fine. Go get the nurse to page Cobb and get him down here ASAP."

Half an hour later Cobb storms into Alanik's room. Thankfully Alanik is still awake.

"What is it that was so urgent?" Cobb grunts.

"Well Alanik woke up, I told her about how I went in her place to Starsight, and that I found out the secret that she was going to figure out. Now she wants to know the secret to the hyperdrive and we thought that we should consult you because in the end it is your decision that matters," I respond while holding a salute.

"At ease and thank you for actually putting my thoughs on the matter into the mix. It seems that you have learned from your past mistake. Two months ago to be precise. I suppose that she would have figured it out if she had actually made it to Starsight. Without her crashing here we wouldn't have found out ourselves. This could also work in our favour because then the UrDail will hopefully consider themselves in our debt. There aren't many downsides. Even if they have taynix's, the only downside could be that they attack us. They probably think that we captured Alanik and didn't save her. Either way, there are few downsides so I give you permission to tell her Lieutenant."

"Thank you. I will head in and tell her now Admiral," I respond. I turn around and walk into Alanik's room.

"I presume you are here to either tell me the secret or to tell me that you aren't going to tell me unless a prove useful to you," Alanik says dryly.

"Let's go with the former. Although the latter is intriguing. The hyperdrives are slugs. They are blue and yellow. Their species name is 'taynix'. Have you heard of anything like them?"

"I have. My people heard that they were poisonous so we killed most of them. We captured the rest for testing to see if we could remove the poison from them but they all managed to escape their cages. I assume that is because they all hyper jumped out of them. Are they actually even poisonous or was that all just a lie?"

"That was a lie about them being poisonous. The Superiority wanted everyone to turn them in to authorities instead of keeping them alive because they wanted them for hyper jumping," Jorgen cuts in.

I turn to him. "I can talk on my own. You know that right?"

Jorgen rolls his eyes and faces Alanik again. "Is there anything else that you would like to know about?"

"Yes, actually, " she starts. "Where am I exactly?"

"You're on-"

I cut Jorgen off, "You're on a planet called Detritus."

"Detritus? One of the human refuges the Superiority is always talking about?

"Yes, that's the one," I sigh.

"Well regardless of what the Superiority says about you, know that me and my people, the UrDail, will forever be in your debt," Alanik says patriotically.

"Thank you Alanik. We will forever be in the UrDail's debt as well," Cobb says from the doorway. I didn't even notice that he didn't leave right away.

"Thank you...Admiral," Alanik says to Cobb hesitantly. She salutes hesitantly right after.

"At ease. You don't have to salute to me even if I am the Admiral. You are a visitor I don't expect formalities from you."

With that Alanik nods and Cobb turns to go. Before he leaves he says, "You may leave for your home planet as soon as you wish after tonight."

Alanik looks towards me and Jorgen as if she is trying to figure us out. "Are you two dating because I'm sort of getting that vibe."
