A/N: I'm so sorry for the cringe last chapter 😂. Like I said before, I've never written anything like this. Hopefully this chapter won't be as bad as the last one 😂.

Y/N's POV

December 1776, Albany, New York

The Schuylers are hosting a Winters' Ball in a few weeks. It'll be a masquerade, so we'll be wearing masks.

And for some reason, I'm glad that I'll be wearing a mask. I guess it's so people won't be able to see who I truly am.

Or what I am.

No one has found out about me, but I have a feeling that Peggy is slowly creeping up to the scary truth. She has caught me multiple times when I come back from feeding, and I'm scared that she'll find out.

If she does, I'm as good as dead (I mean, dead once again). I would be kicked to the curb. General Schuyler would probably tell everyone to be prepared if I were to show up on their doorsteps.

I'm currently in the forest, trying to find food for myself. I have to do this, otherwise I'll end up hurting someone that I care about.

'Peggy, Eliza, Angelica, their family, Hercules, Lafayette, Alex, John.' I thought worriedly, my mind lingering on the last name that crossed my mind.

I haven't fed on anything in about two months, and the affects of going full vampire on everyone showed.

Everyone's blood scent grew stronger, and the Schuyler mansion had so many blood scents, it was hard to control myself. A week ago I was staring intently at Eliza's neck, and I could feel my fangs grow. I'm glad Angelica brought me back to the present, otherwise I would've attacked.

I walked through the forest, my senses alert. Or, at least as alert they could be. My senses were a bit foggy. I guess that's what I get for not feeding sooner.

A twig snapped behind me. I quickly turned, baring my elongated fangs. "Who's there." I hissed towards the noise.

Silence.

I stared at the spot before continuing through the forest, hunger gnawing at my stomach. The cold, December night didn't help any either.

It took me a while, but I found a rabbit. I slowly made my way towards the small animal before pouncing.

~Warning!!! Slight gore!!!~

I bit into the rabbit, hearing it screech as I began to drink its blood. It tried to get away, but I held it down firmly.

It took 2 minutes until the rabbit finally died. I felt guilty, knowing it never had a chance. I quickly picked up the limb body and placed it at the foot of a nearby tree.

I heard a small gasp, and quickly turned. My eyes landed on Peggy, who stood about 10 feet away from me. Her expression? Scared, angry, fearful, and maybe curiosity.

I don't know how much blood I had on my face, but when I reached my hand out to her, she backed away quickly.

"Peggy, please, let me explain...." I pleaded, taking a step towards her, but she turned and ran away from me.

Well, I had two options: Race after her and try to calm her down, or make it it the mansion before her, grab my stuff, and leave.

I decided on the first option, and raced after her. I could easily outrun her, so it didn't take long for me to catch up to her. I was behind her now, so I grabbed her hand. She tried to yank herself free, but I had a death grip on it.

"Peggy, please let me explain. I'll explain everything." I pleaded, my eyes were probably a dull shade of red, since I just got done eating.

"H-how do I know y-you won't kill me?" She squeaked out. I let out a small sigh, my breath fogging in the air.

"I won't kill you. If I let you go, will you not run?" I asked quietly, my eyes turning away from hers, but then looked back up to see her answer.

She gave me a small nod, most likely out of fear and not curiosity. I let her go, and she stayed there.

So, I told her. From the moment I woke up without a heartbeat to the point I came to The Colonies. She listened quietly, her big eyes watching in interest. There was barely any fear now.

"I guess that explains why you can't really be out in the sun, huh?" She said, giving me a soft smile. I nodded solemnly. She then slowly made her way to grab my hand.

I let her. She must want to check and see if I truly didn't have a pulse. She dropped my hand quickly, figuring out that I was telling the truth.

"Who else knows?" She asked me, looking at me.

"You're the first person in the colonies to find out." I said slowly, before turning back to her, "Please don't tell anyone! I don't know how they will react." I pleaded, worry edging my voice.

I then began to freak out. What will they do if they find out? What if they kill me? What if I won't be able to see my friends again? I had my hands made their way to my head, and I began to rock back and forth. I didn't know I was kneeling on the ground until Peggy kneeled next to me, pulling me into a hug.

"I won't tell a soul." She whispered in my ear. I was still shaking, but my nerves began to calm down as she whispered comforting things into my ear.

I gave her a hug back before pulling away, smiling softly at her. She cringed a bit, so I'm guessing I still had a bit of blood on my mouth.

"You know, I always had a hunch that you were different. Sometimes I would watch you walk into the forest from my room. Actually, that sounds really creepy." Peggy said with a small laugh. I laughed a bit too.

I then stood up, brushing the snow from my legs. "We should head back. It'll be dawn soon." I said to her. She then stood up and brushed the snow off of her legs. Then we made our way towards the Schuyler Mansion. We stopped by a pond, that way I could quickly wash the blood off my face.

"I know I asked this before, but you won't tell anyone, right?" I whispered softly as we made our way up the stairs to the door.

Peggy grabbed my hand and squeezed it, "Cross my heart." she said with a smile. I gave her a smile back, and with that, we made our way inside and into our rooms.

Peggy's POV

I got into bed, my mind racing through the events of the night. At least Angie wasn't the one who found out, otherwise Y/N would be on the run.

I then smiled to myself, 'I bet it's not everyday you can say that your best friend is a vampire.' And with that thought in mind, I began to drift off into sleep.

Okay, so this chapter was mostly a filler, but hey! Peggy knows that Y/N is a vampire.

Also, for the next chapter, there will be a masquerade ball, because I think it would be interesting to do so.

Okay, last thing before I leave for the night. I will be going on a road trip next week, so I'll try to update as much as I can. And the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday after that, I'll be on a retreat with a group from school.

But hey, I'll be in the car for most of next week, so I might be able to write a bit more.

Anywho, I'm going to go to bed so that I can be up by six and go to soccer practice at seven thirty. (it's currently one in the morning, so I probably won't be able to function tomorrow :') )

Okay, goodnight everyone!
