Losing Control

'Love? I must've heard wrong. There's no way he loves me.' Elizabeth assured herself as Meliodas got into his fighting stance.

"I plan on beating you senseless. I will repay the humiliation you so generously gave me earlier." Meliodas growled as he charged Escanor.

Escanor quickly put his guard up and stopped Meliodas' punch. "Is that all?" He mocked which only made the prince smirk. "Course not." Meliodas mocked back as he shot dark flames through Escanor's arms. He howled in pain as he fell to his knees. "How are you still stronger than me? I trained for this day!" Escanor shouted.

"Simple. I challenged you after noon dumbass. Instead of getting stronger, each second that we fight makes you weaker." Meliodas evilly explained. "You tricked me!" Escanor complained.

"How? I gave you a time to fight and you arrogantly accepted." Meliodas smirked as he kicked Escanor into the gym doors, pushing them open. "I'll kill you..." Escanor panted as he coughed up blood. "Is that so?" Meliodas teased as he sidestepped a magic laser from Merlin. "Someone's restless." He joked as he sprinted between the sins and the approaching commandments.

"I changed my mind. I'll deal with all the sins. Just make sure those three goddesses keep their noses out of this." He commanded as they nodded and stepped back. "Now where were we?" He asked coldly as Ban dashed toward Elizabeth.

"Sorry cap. Stand down or I end her life." Ban shouted. Meliodas stood there motionless, as his murderous aura slowly crept out. "Excuse me?" He asked with venom laced into both words which made everyone present flinch.

"What the hell Ban?" Elizabeth angrily asked, trying to free herself. "Calm down princess. I don't plan on hurtin ya. I'm doing this so that he calms down and ends this fight." Ban mumbled in her ear.

Seeing Elizabeth stop resisting, only pissed Meliodas off more. "What did you do to her?" Meliodas shouted angrily as he started to fly toward Ban. Right before he reached the two, he was sent flying into a wall. "How was that? Demon prince?" Escanor mocked as he walked closer to the short blonde.

"Not bad. But you should be useless by now. The hell is up with that?" Meliodas asked slightly annoyed. "Oh? Surprised by my power? I'm using my sacred axe Rhitta to temporarily have access to all my strength. All the time I spent training allowed it to store tons of sunshine." Escanor boasted as he punched Meliodas through the wall.

"Fine. I acknowledge you. Since you're going all out, I shall as well." Meliodas explained with a poker face. "Deriere. Throw me my sword." He commanded as she tossed a massive blade to him. "Isn't that toy a little too big for you to be playing with?" Escanor joked which slightly lowered the tension of the other students watching. Only Elizabeth noticed but for a split second, Meliodas gave off enough killing intent for even her to flinch a little.

She saw Meliodas preparing to dash at Escanor and quickly stood between them, facing Meliodas. "Stop it Meliodas. I felt your energy just then. If I didn't interfere, you would have killed Escanor over something so petty." She ordered.

Meliodas left his assault mode to talk to Elizabeth. "I wouldn't have killed him. I just would've beat him to near death. King would've healed him...after he healed himself from this fight." Meliodas joked. "This isn't funny. They're your friends! How could you kill them so easily?" She asked with tears beginning to form. Seeing her about to cry and knowing it was his fault made Meliodas' chest feel tight.

"So that's how it is...they hurt you, and you still choose them over me. It's fine. I never expected this to work out either way." Meliodas sadly explained as he began to leave.

"What do you mean by that?" Elizabeth angrily asked the leaving demon. "We had a connection but it seems like fate would always sever our bond. If this is how it is, I'd rather not keep getting hurt because of something I can't stop." He explained with a sad smile.

"So that's it? You're just gonna let 'fate' decide your life for you? You think I like being hurt over and over again for your sake? Here I am protecting friends who lied to me and it's making me lose someone precious to me, and you think I'm fine?" She asked in frustration.

"Listen Liz. The reason I can't forgive them is because they lied to you! You think I give a damn about some stupid personal grudge with that weakling Escanor?" He shouted back, clenching his chest.

"Get over it! I'm the one they lied to, and I forgive them. So why can't you?" She asked back. "Let me give you a scenario. Let's say someone you love is hurt by their only friends and you trusted them as well. Now let's say, while they were hurt, your loved one hugged you and said sorry, before shortly running off while the friends look at you guiltily. How would you feel?" He angrily asked with tears spilling out of his eyes.

"Meliodas, I-" she started but was cut off. "And you want me to just let it go because you did? There's no way in hell I could do that." He desperately shouted. "Can I ask a question?" She asked with a serious look which slightly unmerved the young demon. "What?"

"About your scenario...was that your way of confessing that you love me?" She asked with a devilish smirk. Meliodas quickly turned his head away as it turned into a hot pink.

"Who's the chameleon now?" She arrogantly asked. "Hmm....still you." He answered as he pulled her into a kiss. "You sly son of a-" She began to say as her face turned into a deep crimson. "Ah ah Liz. There are kids watching." He teased with a wink as he flew away.

"Oh no you don't!" She shouted as she sprouted her wings to chase him. The commandments were dying of laughter and Escanor's temporary power ran out so he collapsed. "Why would you use Elizabeth as a hostage? Meliodas would've killed you!" Elaine pouted as she punched Ban's chest.

"Nah. Cap wouldn't have killed me. Or any of us! Escanor maybe, but no one else." Ban said with a big grin. "King I suggest you give her memories back. We might get in more trouble if you keep them away from her for too much longer." Merlin ordered.

"Sure, but um....what do we do about all the damage to the school?" King nervously asked as some debris fell and almost crushed Escanor's unconcious body. "I'll fix it. Like I always do." Merlin complained as she started. "Well, time to go home guys!" Diane excitedly screamed as she bolted toward the front doors.

"Gotcha!" Elizabeth said as she grabbed Meliodas, who stopped in front of a door. "Hm? Did you get me? Or was it the other way around?" Meliodas smirked as he grabbed her arm and dragged her inside. "You pervert!" She shouted at the confused demon.

"Um, you know that you followed me here right? And besides, I'm not guarding the door so you can leave if you want." He said with a confused stare. "You player! Do you use this line on all the girls? Sicko!" She quickly responded.

"Only the ones who follow me home without me asking them to." He said with a cocky smirk. "Whatever...you look hurt! Looks like Escanor got you good." She teased as she grabbed bandages from the restroom.

"I have so many questions for you. One, how the hell did you know where my restroom was? Two, how did you know that I kept my bandages there?" He asked with a nervous glance.

"That's where everyone keeps them. I think. And the door was open so it was easy to find." She explained as she wiped his injuries and placed bandages on his face.

"Ow damnit!" He hissed in pain. "Shut up. You should've been ready for this when you got in a fight." She said as he gave him a quick hmph.

"Where did I meet such a sassy chameleon?" He asked out loud to throw her off. "I'll never know where I found such a sissy chameleon." She joked as Meliodas jumped up. "You little-" he said frustrated as they began to run around the couch.

"Looks like the holy war will end soon. Which means I win."

"Let's see about that."
