(A/N: your birthday which I've decided is September 11th to save the trouble with the timeline.)

It's been almost a year since (Y/N) and I met and I'm glad I met her. She's fun to talk to, she's kind, sweet, very imaginative and she's genuinely an amazing person to have around. It's not long now till her 28th birthday and I want to do something special for her first birthday in about eleven years. I had the Oompa Loompa's make a cake I had a design for while I worked out everything else. Presents, food, activities and just anything to make this birthday the best day of her life. I was ecstatic but I tried not to give anything away to (Y/N). The day finally arrived and I went to wake (Y/N) and give her her first present of the day.

"(Y/N)," I said in a sing-song voice earning a tired groan from her, "Time to get up."

"Why?" She asked.

"Because it's your birthday and it's something that needs to be celebrated. Come on, come on, come on! There's so much time, so little to do! Wait a minute! Strike that, reverse it."

"You're very exuberant this morning," (Y/N) said sitting up, rubbing her eyes.

"How could I not? Now, open your first presents and meet us in the common room. Come on! Hurry!"

I placed her first two presents on the bed and I left to let her get changed. I waited with the Bucket family for (Y/N) to get ready. She soon came out of her room to reveal her in the rainbow candy dress I had specially made for her and a rainbow, lolly and feather top hat to match.

"I'm more colourful than you," (Y/N) said with a laugh.

I chuckled, "that's the idea."

She actually was a lot more colourful than me which, if I'm honest, wasn't that hard to achieve. Aside from that, she looked gorgeous. We then had breakfast and then, at lunch, we took out the cake and (Y/N) looked like she was going to cry. The cake was a copy of Vincent Van Gogh's painting; The Starry Night. She loved it just as much as she loved Van Gogh's work. I knew she would. Present opening was next. The Bucket's gave their gifts and I saved my best one till last. I told her to close her eyes and I went to get the best present she'll ever receive. Hopefully. I kneeled in front of her and told her to open her eyes. She did and saw the Siberian Husky puppy in my arms saying that it was hers. She loved it. And he seemed to love her.

"Is it a he or a she?" (Y/N) asked

"Is it a he or a she?" (Y/N) asked.

"It's a he," I replied, "and he doesn't have a name yet."

(Y/N) was silent for a moment, "I think I'll call you Daroga."

"I've never heard that name before," Charlie's grandpa Joe said.

"I read it in a book. It's Persian for chief of police. But, I think it suits him."

"et Daroga ce sera," I said in French.

(Y/N) smiled and shook her head. She doesn't know what I say when I speak either French, German or Latin which is a good advantage sometimes. I'll say anything in one of the languages and she'll just smile not knowing what I said or how to respond. It wasn't long after (Y/N)'s birthday when I realised how affectionate Daroga is and how well behaved he is. He loves cuddles, he's always around at least one of us and he'll always find somewhere comfy to sleep on. When Daroga was around (Y/N), he was very protective. He must already see her as a mother or an alpha or something. It actually wasn't all that bad having him around. And (Y/N)'s happy so that's a bonus.

(A/N: Chapter. Done. I don't know what I'm doing anymore! See you next time!)
