Kiree fumbled through the cabinets in his bathroom anxiously trying to find what he was looking for.

"Where my shit at?" He starting to become angry because he knows he hasn't thrown it away.

Days had passed since Kiree talked to Camden. Of course she tried to call, but he didn't answer any of them. She tried showing up to his house, but he told his dad not to let her in anymore.

The funerals were next weekend and he was dreading them. Kiree didn't want anyone to see him like this.

He was dark skinned, but you could still clearly see the cuts that occupied both of his arms.

The scars were ugly to him, but he loved the relief they provided to him. Cutting was the only way he believed he was alive because any other time he was numb.

Kiree didn't talk to anyone, he didn't eat, and he rarely slept. He stayed locked up in his room with the curtains closed and the lights off.

He didn't know how to cope in a healthy way, so cutting was his only escape. He was ashamed it had come to this, but he was fine with the consequences.

Not finding his razor, he picked up some scissors he found in his drawer. He examined them to make sure they were sharp enough and they were.

Putting four new fresh cuts on his lower left arm, Kiree sighed in bliss.

His personal moment was interrupted by a knock on his door. He ignored it, but it only got louder.

"Yeah?"

"Let me in," his dad's voice said.

Kiree disregarded him and focused back on his arm. He put a fifth and final cut on his arm. It was deeper and longer than the rest.

He watched as the blood trickled down his arm and onto the floor.

It was definitely a sight to see.

"I said open this damn door!"

Kiree went to open his door without even wiping his arm off.

"What?" He only opened the door enough for him to stick his head out.

His dad looked at him and sighed. Just in a few days Kiree didn't even look like his regular self. He had gotten smaller from starving himself and his dark skin looked drained.

"I cooked you some food, go eat. I gotta go to work."

Kiree nodded and tried to close the door in his face but his dad stopped it with his foot.

"I'm forreal," he asserted and walked away.

When he was out of sight Kiree closed and locked his door back. Him and his dad both knew he wasn't coming out of his room to eat.
