You put the glass of water next to his keyboard silently. Mark is still focused on his game; he has been for the past couple of hours. You sit next to him, resuming on your book. Everyone will think it's weird to spend your rare same day offs like this, but honestly, you're good with doing anything as long as Mark takes his time away from work and he's there with you.

"Ah, fuck," he mutters when his character dies for the third time today.

You look up from your book just as he slumps on his seat and lets out a huff. It makes you smile; he looks such a boy when he's bummed about his game.

Mark doesn't let your expression past. He turns to you with an eyebrow up. "You're laughing."

"I'm not," you say, innocent face on. But you know better.

"Then what's the smile for?" he challenges.

You shrug, eyes going back to your book, nonsense gesture. "You just look cute."

You shriek when you feel him pulling himself closer, his gaming chair sliding swiftly and stopping just in front of you. You instinctively put your legs up to protect yourself, in case Mark reaches to your sides and tickle you. You've kicked him in the face before. You'll do that again.

But Mark just pulls your legs away from you and puts them on top of his lap sideways. He takes your book and puts it beside the water you brought him. You're still on your respective spaces, but he doesn't like to have anything in between.

"I looked cute?" he repeats. Oh, that low tone. You're never going to buy that.

"Yes, Markiepooh. You look like Milo with that hair," you reach to ruffle his soft locks.

"Hey, don't ruin it. I had a hard time styling it."

"This was styled? It wasn't even combed."

"I don't have to take as long as you to style my hair."

"Hey, styling my hair is way faster than you stopping that game. You said you'll be done in five minutes for, like, two hours now."

Mark bites his lip. Damn those teeth. How does he look hot and adorable at the same time? It's a universal mystery you don't think you'll ever figure out.

"Sorry," he goes even closer to wrap his arms around you. God, your back will ache if he's not planning to let go in minutes. But being a contorted banana is worth it if you get to be this close to Mark. "Should we go out to have lunch?"

"It's already five in the evening, stupid."

"Oh no. You must be really hungry now, that's why you're grumpy."

"And whose fault is that?"

"Mine. I'm such a bad boyfriend."

He's bad, alright. For making you melt with that pout. You can't even feel mad when he looks like Milo. "It's alright. You can just, I don't know, take me to my favourite steakhouse for dinner?"

"But didn't we eat there last time we went out?"

"Which was two weeks ago."

"Oh, damn. That must be why I miss you so bad."

You roll your eyes. He hits you with the cheese when he knows he's in trouble.

He sits up from leaning on your chest. "Okay, let me just change. Daddy will buy you dinner."

"Oh God, shut up," you put your numbing legs off his lap and straighten your back. "Take a bath while you're at it. You've been wearing that sweatpants since last night."

"And you've been wearing my shirt since you woke up. Wanna take a bath together?"

"And risk not getting to the steakhouse from how tired we'll get? No, thank you."

Mark giggles. Ugh, never ending cuteness. He stands to leave but not before dropping a kiss on the top of your head. "You sure about not taking a bath? Your hair..."

"I washed it last night!"

He laughs at your poor attempt to push him away. He gives you more kisses on the cheek before letting go of you. "I know. You still smell divine."

And there goes his side that makes you blush. Oh, the wonders of Mark Tuan.

"I hate you," you grumble in defeat.

"I love you too!" he shouts from the other side of the door.
