Mine~ A Steven Universe x Reader Story

You woke up to the sun almost starting to set. You sat up in bed and stretched, yawning as you did. You tried to be quiet, considering Steven was still asleep next to you. You carefully slunk out of bed and tip toed downstairs. You were starving. You trudged over to the fridge to find something to satisfy your grumbling stomach. You rummaged around before you eventually found some leftover pasta from the other night and heated it up in the microwave. Once it was cooked, you took it out and turned around to run right smack into Amethyst. "Agh. Hey Amethyst. Sup," you said, wincing as you rubbed your head. 

"Woah, you okay dude?" Amethyst asked as she walked you to the couch. 

"Yeah, just after everything my head's just been really fuzzy. Don't tell Steven I told you this, but I'm not sure I fully remember everything," you started as Amethyst gave you a sympathetic look. "Like I remember who he is and us meeting each other and all the stuff we did, but everything after 7:00 last night is really jumbled. The only thing I can even make out was trying to get my memory back," you paused. 

"What?" Amethyst said, rather loudly at that.

"Amethyst! Shh! You're gonna wake up Steven!" you said, your face beginning to turn red. "It might have just been a side effect from the rejuvenator, I'm really not sure. Look, maybe I just need a walk to like think this stuff over. I might go check out my place to see if my brother is back. I'll text you, 'kay?" 

"Okay, just try not to get abducted by crazy gems," Amethyst said as she went back to the fridge with a laugh.

"Har har. I'll be back," you said as you  closed the door. Just as you left, Steven woke up. He rubbed his eyes and glanced down to see you not there beside him. He got up and bolted down the stairs. 

"Where's (y/n)!" Steven asked in a panic. 

"Chill dude! She just left to go for a walk. Probably needs it too. You guys have been asleep for like the whole day," Amethyst said, walking towards Steven. She placed a hand on his back. "You okay man?"

"Y-yeah, it's just I don't want to lose her again," Steven said as a blush consumed his face due to him simply just thinking about you. Amethyst noticed this and playfully nudged him in the shoulder. 

"Uh oh~ Somebody's in love-"

"AMETHYST! I-Is it that obvious?" the blush on Steven's face grew.

"Uh, duh!" Amethyst said walking back to kitchen. "Do you think she likes you back?"

"I mean, m-maybe?" Steven stuttered as he remembered the events from last night. His eyes widened when he recalled the cave. "Amethyst, I think she might."

"No way dude! How do you know?" She seemed intrigued.

"Well, I may have broken Howlite's control on her with a kiss," Steven started as he began to blush like no tomorrow. Amethyst squealed in excitement. "Shhh, Amethyst!"

"Relax dude. She's not here," she said shaking her head. She had to use all her self restraint to keep from telling Steven what you told her before you left. It would crush Steven. Steven just rubbed the back of his neck. 

"I feel like I should do something special for her," Steven said. 

"Tonight?" Amethyst asked. It seemed like he was taking this a little too fast. 

"No, of course not. But soon," Steven said as he headed back up to his room to think. He wanted whatever he did for you to be perfect. He was having trouble thinking, however. He couldn't stop thinking about  you and your safety. After last night, he really didn't to be away from you. He just sighed and laid down on bed and stared at the ceiling, waiting for your return.
