"I'm not into—this, but I will admit. You're a really good friend, too, Theo." Our fists bumped across the table that I went back on what I was doing, still watching the bar move slowly while tapping my feet repeatedly. "And I still can't believe I didn't hit on you—"
"I feel like taking back what I said—"
"No! I'm sorry!" He said, offering his plate of sweets as a truce that I gladly accepted. Munching happily with my new found best friend all while the silence envelope us backstage.
Oh, wait, that didn't last long when as soon as I took a bite out of a cupcake did the boys emerge out of the room wearing the best of the best. And I mean it when I said best because—"Holy shit. You guys look good." Kyle successfully voiced it out for me and I was enamored. And I've never even saw fit to use that word anywhere until today. While I was looking at four men who used to wear nothing but shirts and singlets, now in their lavish branded clothes glittering and shining amidst the dark backstage.
Don't even get me started with Luke. "Hey, bub." He walked near where I was drooling—sitting, all dressed up like the Prince Charming in all those princess movies I had when I was a child. Cream satin across his chest, black jeans, and black heeled boots. His fingers adorned with rings all while his fingernails were colored in a really striking red. His hair—oh, god, his hair drops down his cheek so comfortably it all felt like there are angels singing behind his back.
Still don't wanna believe this man is mine. Like—for real. "H-Hey, Lu." His right hand on the table, his head dropped down to level my face and—goddamnit.
"Hey. Do you need help?" He said, seductively after kissing me senseless and I struggled to find the words and breath and ground thinking about what he said when it clicked—Luke said that to me!
That day we met!
"You didn't forget." His right lip tugged upwards amusingly, melting my heart even more as if it wasn't already the minute I saw him.
"Never." Our audience hooted around like lunatics soon as he took a seat right beside me, successfully closing the laptop after regaining consciousness to the surrounding and grabbing under the table to present him my bag full of gifts.
"I got this for you!" His smile lit up the whole world soon as his eyes saw the bag. Quickly, he opened it like a little child with his christmas present one by one, scanning after every junkfoods and sweets, and even one bracelet I bought from the old woman selling beside the diner.
"Oh! Flaming Cheetos! My favorite!" Mikey quickly eyed the said junkfood yet before he could even get his hands on it, Luke immediately snatched it away on the table, flicking his fingers left to right while practically hugging his bag full of food.
"Sorry, boys." He said, putting on the brown bracelet around his wrist while wearing a smirk. "It seems like Theo loves me more." Though he wasn't expecting the reaction he got when all of them, including Kyle, said out loud,
"Duh!"
I guess they all got the memo on that.
Luke darted again on me while they talk about the party tonight, his eyes gleaming around the jewelry that I laugh. "It's three dollars, Luke. It's worth more than your prettier bracelets."
"But it's from you." He quickly retorted, holding on to my hand quickly. "It's priceless, alright? I love it. I really do." Luke quickly held on me and pulled me close, squishing the bag as soon as he gave me a bone-crushing hug. One that I could feel all his emotions seep through. "I love it, so much. You never forgot about today, you brought me our favorites. Y-You—Theo, you did this all for me even on our busiest schedule."
