Dane's invisibility would really come in handy right now I think to myself looking around the room full of people.
"What are you doing here???" Palmer harshly whispers pushing me into another room.
"I came to drop this off," I say holding up the present I got for Sammy, it's a super cool Lego set.
"For someone who cares so much about secrecy, you sure have the nerve to risk being spotted," she says.
"Yeah well, I needed to speak to you too. I need you to find out everything you can on Cynthia Wilder," I say.
"There's no need, I know exactly who she is," she says confidently.
"Who is she? Is she here?" I ask looking back.
"No. She died in 1890. She was one of the founders of Salutis, her picture was all over the Salutis wall of fame in London, before you blew it up of course," she says with a hint of judgment but I brush it off.
"That doesn't make any sense. Dane told us Cynthia Wilder was the one behind the hunt for fulminares so she could experiment on us," I explain, my curiosity only growing.
"I don't know what to tell you Ave. Maybe Dane gave you the wrong name to mess with you," I give her a flat look, hoping it sends a 'Dane-would-never' message to her head. "You really believe Dane was good don't you?"
"I'd bet my life," my words make her eyes widen for some reason like she just saw a ghost. "What?" I ask confused by her reaction.
"Nothing. I trust you. I will look into it. Now give me the present and get out of here," she says taking the gift bag right out my hand. I say goodbye and teleport home.
"She's back!" Tanith shouts walking into the kitchen 2 minutes after I got home.
"Did you find Cynthia's location?" Cassian asks appearing with everyone else.
"Not exactly," I say. "I asked Palmer about her and she said Cynthia Wilder died in 1890. She was one of the Salutis founders," I explain.
"That doesn't make any sense, Dane said-" Imelda starts.
"I know what Dane said. He wouldn't just say her name for no reason. Cynthia Wilder is a clue, we just have to figure out to what," I say. I refuse to believe Dane's last words to me are a lie, I'm not being gullible, I just have this gut feeling that he is right about everything. It's not like there has been no proof, I mean the way I found Cassian was proof Dane was telling the truth about Salutis wanting to experiment on us.
"How do we do that?" Rik asks.
"We need to find the Electus and Salutis archives," I say and the whole team looks at me like I just grew a shark head.
"Are you insane? The Salutis archives are ancient and only the highest ranked members know where it is," Imelda mentions.
"And there is no record of the Electus archives, we don't even know if it exists, it could be a myth," Cassian adds.
"Fulminares are myths too. Did you forget? Bigfoot? Slenderman? Wendigo? They're all fulminares labelled as myths because no one can find them. I believe we are the most powerful fulminare team to ever walk the earth. We can definitely handle finding a couple of archives and breaking in. We must always remember that being part of Electus, means protecting humans and ourselves, especially Imperium. If there is someone threatening our biggest secret, it is our duty to stop them, if we don't, humans and fulminares will be in danger," I say in attempt to motivate my team to find the one thing on earth they hate...books, hundreds of books, filled with centuries worth of history.
