These next 3 chapters are build-up chapters for the bullshit that's to come. There's also going to be a time skip or 2 because it's a pregnancy story, you have to have the time skips! Like I said, I'm not writing her day to day experiences, but y'all will get the picture through their narrations.

Vincent

'Your crown depends on this marriage, remember that, Vincent.'

Yes, my father wanted to school me about how important this marriage should be to me and that it is important for me to always keep Melanie happy.

Unfortunately, she wasn't because she had called my mother crying about how I neglect her as my fiancée. My mother then told my father and that there is what led to my father requesting for that afternoon luncheon that I missed.

It was obvious that I wasn't being a very affectionate fiancé to my 'precious' Melanie. But we all knew why. The woman was a she-devil and I couldn't do anything to make my family believe that. Even my grandmother, with her blind eyes, came to Melanie's defense by stating that she could see the hurt in the young woman's eyes.

We knew the moment was a serious matter, but Rodney and I weren't going to contain the laughter that threatened to spew out from both of us. We kindly asked if we could step out of the King's study for a moment because this was a laugh that wasn't going to be held in for anyone.

After returning and being advised by several women, my mum, the Baroness, and the Queen Dowager what is expected of a fiancé, I decided to genuinely heed to their advice. I told Melanie, making no promises, that I will try to be the best man for her. I was a bit upset that she ran to my family so quickly instead of coming to me, but I suppose that is the downfall of being a part of the Royal Family. If your spouse or fiancée complains to your family about your flaws, you're scolded for hours on end until you just apologize and keep it moving.

Supper was starting soon and we all decided to head down at the same time.

"Hi, darling," I said to Mel as I caught her dabbing her eyes with a tissue. I kissed her forehead to add some more affection as she'd requested.

"Hi, Vinny," she smiled at me between her sniffles and puffy green eyes.

"I'm sorry for making you feel neglected. I've been busy like a bee, trying to slowly step into my father's place. It can be very time consuming," I explained.

"I understand. But, Vincent, you have to tell me that. You cannot just ignore me. I tried calling you yesterday and this morning and I got nothing in return. Not even a text message," she voiced her complaints.

"I'm not always looking at my phone, but I will make sure that I have a special ringtone for you," I pulled her closer to me, causing her to laugh in response.

When we made it to the dining room, I couldn't help but notice that Folashadé was there talking to Gina and the Master of Households. She was in a different sweater from earlier and instead of the ripped denim jeans she had on earlier, she was wearing denim that covered her legs completely. Thankfully, the mustard-colored sweater she wore covered her ample backside because Lord only knows it's been a while since I've touched her.

Let's relax just a bit. I've already been scolded for not paying enough attention to Mel, so I can't already go staring at other women.

"Vice-Admiral, what seems to be the occasion? It's rare for me to see you at supper," my father commented as I held Melanie's seat open for her, listening in on my father's conversation. "Are you joining us for the meal?"

"No, not tonight, Your Majesty. Gina wanted to make a quick announcement to the Royal Family. One of our maids is pregnant," the Vice-Admiral whispered as if it was some sort of gossip, but luckily I caught it. My father's eyes widened and he covered his mouth, as if to stifle a laugh.
