39: Sometimes you don't know how bad it hurts...until it keeps you up at night

"Calm down. It's just a cough. Plus we've been doing this FOR HOURS." I say as I emphasize the last two words.

"Alright, I need y'all to-" Mike says but gets interrupted.

"Guys, Molls?! What are you guys still doing here?" Santana says as she comes into the recording booth.

"Get us out of this chamber!" Michael says as he now ends up on the floor.

At this point, all 5 of us are on the floor looking like we could sleep in this studio.

"Mike what have you done to them?" Santana says.

"We were recording, and then while I was putting stuff together, one by one they all went to the floor. First it was Ash, then Luke, then Molls, then Cal, and now Mikey." He says.

"Mike, how badly do you need this song done?" Santana says.

"Before the guys tour with The Chainsmokers." Mike says.

"You guys are touring with The Chainsmokers?!" Both Santana and I say at the same time.

"Where have you guys been?" Ash says.

"Well we've been....busy." I say.

"With stuff." Santana says.

"Anyways, Mike, as you can see, all 5 of them aren't able to keep going. Soooo, how about, give them the day off, and then you can resume in a couple days. If you want them to do harmonies, you gotta finish this another day." Santana says through the mic.

"Pweaseeeeee!" All 5 of us begged on the floor.

"Alright, I'll schedule another session in a couple of days and we can finish this up." Mike says and all of us shot up and got out of there.

We all headed to the car and started driving off. We headed to some fast food place that was open late at night and then we were awoken.

We were just driving around in the empty city since there were barely any cars around, and when there's barely any cars on the streets, it's the biggest joyride you can possibly have.

Music was playing out loud as we drove around downtown with the windows down, and it's a vibe.

We ended up driving to some hill and sat outside for a good while just admiring the view.

It's been a hot minute since we did stuff like that cause we're all just so busy, that this was something we didn't want to let go of.

"Can we do more stuff like this?" Luke says.

"The fact that we were sitting ducks an hour ago, and now we're up here, now that's crazy. Who knew us getting out of there will bring us back to life?" I say.

"I mean, that session did bring back memories of us recording Killer Queen, but this is like 10x more." Michael says.

"The thing is though, Mike is always full of ideas in his mind, so this kind of thing, it's tiring, but not surprising." Ash says.

"Molls you've mainly been with him, how did you not see this coming?" Cal says.

"I think I've done more late night and early morning sessions to not see it coming. I go, do what we do, go out for a bit with Santana and then come home." I say.

"Then what happens on the late night sessions?" Luke says.

"The day is just swtched. I don't know. It varies now. Nowadays it's been lonely since, we don't need to mention that. Speaking of lonely," I say as I get up on the front of the car.
