My brother seems less than satisfied with the Grand Master’s reaction as he nods weakly. Maybe just this once, my words weigh heavier than his. “Alright…Master Elemental Pool, I want you to work on a diplomatic suggestion with a few of the other Elementals under your wings. I’ll see it through before you take that team with you and send that suggestion over to the Marsians.” He answers as he gets up. “We can’t afford much more war if our planet is to survive its most dangerous enemy…us.” He goes on as I nod before he takes off.

“Way to get us killed, brother. With our guards down, they’ll be sure to come and attack us.” Vulcano lets out disappointed as I get up on my feet. Suddenly, I’ve gotten myself busy. “No, the best way to get killed is if we keep chasing after them. We don’t have that many Elementals to spare these days, brother. Our soldiers on the field are getting younger and younger. It’s time we think about the planet we come from, rather than drowning ourselves in this war.” I answer firmly as I get out of the room.

After sending off that message to the Marsians, the next time I saw my brother, Grand Master Quake was dead and my brother all of a sudden assumed his position and waged even more war on the Marsians than we had in the past. Of course, with stabbing me in the back and pushing me out of the picture, there was a straight line to the seat as Grand Master and Vulcano seized his opportunity. When it came to his attention that I was still in the system, he found it appropriate to demote me to Senior and sent my diplomatic ideas and me away. He found another Elemental of Water to take my seat and all of a sudden, I found myself as a Senior Elemental in the remote academy known as the Northern Academy.

Little does my brother know that during my short interaction with the Marsians I made some valuable allies that I still keep in touch with now. My only hope right now is that they can get involved somehow and get Breeze and Blaze out of his grasp before they are being sent out to the field.

We will do our very best at that, Pool. I then hear inside my head as the thought runs though my own mind. It’s not the same voice as before. This comes from the one that through cognitive communication has been training me ever since I was demoted. I’ve always been far more powerful than any of the other Seniors around me, but nobody’s ever known…none other than my brother in this company. I just hope that’s enough, Master. If you need to prioritize, get the Elemental of Fire out. He is already manipulating her. I answer back.

The moon is coming even closer as I open my eyes. Walking down memory lane I haven’t noticed how close we are to the moon all of a sudden. We will try, Pool. However, I have seen visions of some events before that time. Events that we cannot prevent before it’s too late. The voice answers. I know he’s talking about me. The arrival to the moon is coming up through the speakers as I look at the crystal ball on the bed. I will equip Breeze with the crystal-ball. Hopefully he’ll figure out the right time to use it and keep Blaze close to him. They have to stick together. I let out as I pack it down in a tiny pouch. You have to guide them, Master. Guide them to the answers that I know they seek.

I’m getting ready to exit the room as I’ve said that. The aircraft is about to dock by one of the ports on the moon. I’ll do my best, Pool. However, I fear that the girl’s mind is too infected by your brother. If she knows something of us, he will know it too. He answers. I sigh deeply to myself before opening the door. I’ve had that feeling as well. I know…trust Breeze. My brother doesn’t have the same interest in him. He doesn’t have the same powers as Blaze. I answer back. We will… I hear before opening the door.

“Senior Pool, nice of you to finally join us. How about you head down to the students and hand them the transitional-breathing-gills? I wouldn’t want to see such precious Elementals suffocate before entering training…” Storm says as he hands the devices over to me. The Moon doesn’t really have an atmosphere, which is a problem to us humans because Earth does. That’s where the oxygen is, but here on the moon there is none. “That’s very considerate of you, Storm. I’ll get right on to it.” I answer back in the same tone as I make my way down one level and through the doors where I see Rain, Ember, Breeze and Blaze are getting ready, in the same room if I might add.

“Senior Pool, we’re almost ready…” Breeze lets out as I can tell he’s doing much better. The breathing mask if off for good it seems. “Indeed, Elementals…almost ready.” I let out as I put my own bag down and them one gill each. “You’re going to need these put on before stepping off the aircraft.” They all look slightly puzzled. “These are transitional-breathing-gills. If you have read of underwater creatures, you’ll know they breathe through gills. This device as the same function for us now that we’re stepping on to a planet without atmosphere. You have two pieces, one going on each side of your throat, just underneath your ears.” I let out as they do as I’ve told.

“Feels really weird…” Blaze says as the aircraft finally docks and is switched off. “Alright, Elementals, time to get off this ship and onto the moon.” I let out as the door in the far end of the room opens and I lead the way out as they all walk through out of the bubble of air that’s on the aircraft and into the moon’s ‘atmosphere’. I turn around immediately to see that they have all fastened the gills correctly as none of them are having trouble breathing. As I turn back around, the Grand Master and Master Elemental Storm are standing in front of us as I step slightly to the side for the Elementals to see them.

“Welcome to the Moon, Elementals - your last stop before entering the field. Follow us, we’ll show you around the facilities.” Grand Master Vulcano then says.
