"I'm going to go visit my wife right quick, then we can do whatever."
"Lets go on a walk, in nature, or some shit."
"I actually like Chris idea." I stood up. "I'll fuck with ya later."
I grabbed Kai and we left, making the trip to the hospital.
"Hey love." The lady at the desk spoke.
"Hey, normal visit."
"You and that baby be safe, ok pumpkin?"
"Yes ma'am."
We walked into Arii's room and I smiled at the sight of her. She really was the love of my life, sick or not.
"Hey pretty mama." I kissed her forehead, sitting on the bedside.
I stared at her, taking her features in. Even with messy hair, and tubes in her, she still was the most beautiful I've seen.
"I miss you, I'm not going to cry." I laughed, bouncing Kailee on my leg. "But I do miss you, and I can't wait for us to be a family again. Hang on for me, us. I'll be back soon."
I collected Kailee, and we took the short drive home. I circled the block a couple times, just to have time to myself. After I was done self mediating, I grabbed Boopy & we went inside.
"Gimme Kai and go change."
Passing her to Imani, I walked to my room and changed into something comfortable. A couple moments later, we started our walk.
"These houses over here are nice as fuck."
We were walking through our neighborhood, examining the houses.
"No seriously, makes our house look small."
We kept walking and reached this dip off area. They wanted to explore it, but I wasn't for it. We aren't white and we don't willingly walk into danger, like some scary movie shit.
"Karter, come on."
I finally gave in, and we walked in between the trees. Kai and I stayed in the middle, that way if something happened, we weren't in front or behind everyone.
"Come on a walk they said, it'll be fun they said."
When we reached the end of the path, it showcased this pretty lake.
"Y'all discovered Terabitha and I don't like that." I said turning around.
"Karter, stop."
I sighed and sat on a rock, looking at the view in front of me. The sunset perfectly over the water, and the scenery was nice. My body relaxed slightly at the sight and I became at peace.
