You laughed and moved a bit to look at him from the side. "No it's not," you said, grabbing your hair and braiding it with ease. "See?"
Link pouted and looked away. "Yes, it is. I don't want to try anymore."
You shook your head with an amused smile, tying the end of your hairstyle. "You'll get the hang of it. Anyway, seeing as we're both up, why don't we get going? Hmm? We still have to find the next tower before reaching the Lost Woods," you stated as you hopped off the bed. You shook the sleepy feeling in your legs and then bent down to pick up your satchel. Gauzes and bandages were spread across the floor at random, so you spent a few seconds stashing it away in your bag before standing straight again.
"Do we have to get up?" The boy whined.
"Don't you want to get the master sword?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes..."
"Then you have to get up. Anyway, I'm gonna get some fruit from Zephyr's saddlebag," you began, heading to the door. "I'll cook something quickly and then we can be on our way, alright?"
Link shuffled to the corner of the bed and rubbed his aching head before responding. "Want me to help? I don't want you to do all the work."
You reached for the door's handle and then paused. "Uh... okay. Let me grab the ingredients and then I'll tell you what to do," you smiled and opened the door. A gust of cold morning breeze pushed against your warm cheeks, making you shudder. You hummed and stepped out barefoot, smiling when the fresh grass tickled the bottom of your foot. There something pleasant in the feeling, and as you walked to your horses, you were quite engrossed in it.
"Good morning girls," you said to Zephyr and Epona. The horses stayed standing, with their eyes closed. You chuckled to yourself and quietly untied their reins before grabbing the fruit you needed from the saddlebags. You balanced the ingredients by placing it against your chest and atop your forearms. Using one hand, you closed the flap of the bag and carefully went back inside.
You pushed the door open with your foot, though you almost lost balance with the action. Holding the fruit tightly, you gradually set your foot down and walked inside the cabin. You expected to see Link on the bed still, but you were surprised to see him on the other side of the room... shirtless.
"What are you doing?" You questioned, kicking the door closed. His sculpted back faced you, but you were able to see his face through the mirror he looked at himself in.
Link continued staring at himself, turning to look at you only after he heard you set the food down. "I didn't know I had this many scars on my body," he spoke, flickering his eyes back to look at the lifted skin on the sides of his torso. There were a few scars on his chest and abs, which he stared at in an intrigued manner. "Cool."
You pursed your lips and walked behind him. Your eyes locked in the reflection of the mirror until you glanced away. "I don't think that should be considered cool, Link," you clicked your tongue and stared at his back. Many scars were spread across his pale skin. From his shoulder blades to his lower abs. You frowned and gently brushed your hand over the lifted pieces of skin. "These look like old scars... I reckon you got them 100 years ago."
Link looked over his shoulder as his breathing unknowingly quickened at your touch. "I must've gotten hurt a lot," he chuckled, turning to face you. He pointed to a scar that was just beneath his collar bone and grinned. "This one isn't old. I got it from my fight with Fireblight Ganon," he chirped.
"You seem awfully proud of it," you stared at the scar and then looked up at him.
"Well yeah! If someone ever asks me about this scar I can tell them I got it from fighting one of Ganon's creations!" He smiled goofily. "Many people will find that cool."
