~ Chapter 1 ~

Eggman moves over to Jet, finishing his sentence by whispering.

"Heh. So let me get this straight, we just need to collect all these Chaos Emeralds, right?"

Eggman nods.

"Sounds easy."

"You really think so, eh?"

"What do you mean? Are you saying the Babylon Rogues aren't capable of stealing some puny emeralds?"

"No, of course not. But... have you seen this character before?"

Eggman presses a few buttons on his coat's left arm's wrist, producing a hologram of Sonic which displays statistics about him.

"He's called Sonic, and said to be the fastest creature on Earth. I've had many, many dreadful encounters with this pest."

"Hmph. He may be the fastest creature on the ground, but in the air, with me and my Extreme Gear, he's just a joke." Jet smirked.

"Oh, and before I forget. There's also someone else you should REALLY be more aware of. She's..." Eggman shivers. "...very scary and so... intimidating."

"She?" Jet raised his eyebrow.

"Oh? Is she cool like me?" Wave asked excitedly.

"I wouldn't say that, but sure she is."

Sonic's hologram changed to Y/N with statistics about her.

"She's Sonic's sister called Y/N. She's not the fastest like him, but with her genious, she can roller skate fast like Sonic with rockets. But that's not all. She's a sword and whip fighter, skate boarder, and has a power to wield the crystal."

"Huh. She looks nothing scary or intimidating." Jet said, tilting his head in curiosity of her character.

"I say I like her already." Wave said.

"Oh, believe me. Just be careful with her." Eggman warned.

"Alright. Even if she's fast, there's nothing she can do to beat me. Ah ha ha ha ha!"

Back to Sonic, Y/N, and their friends as they are walking across the bridge in the forest where there's a big waterfall behind them.

"Yeah, but what exactly is Eggman really after?" Knuckles asked.

"Aw, it can't be anything too important." Sonic said.

"Don't jinx it, Sonic. There's always something important that Eggman will always get his hands on." Y/N said, glancing at him.

"Oh, right... Sorry."

"Hey, Sonic!!"

They turned to see a familiar pink hedgehog as she ran towards them.

"Huh? Amy...?"

Sonic's eyes droop; Amy runs up to him, screeching to a halt.

"Don't tell me you've signed up too?"

"Of course. It really looks exciting and fun. Why wouldn't I join? And besides... this way, I'll be able to keep my eyes on you." Amy said and winked at the end.

"Ugh."

Sonic looked at his sister for help trying to get Amy to leave him alone. Y/N giggled and didn't bother helping much to his dismay. She noticed Tails is looking at Sonic's board.

"Tails?" she asked.

"Hmm... That mark..." Tails said, remembering see the emblem on Storm's board.

"Mark?" Sonic questioned.

"Uh-huh. I think it was on the boards of those guys we ran into in Future City. ...Babylon..."

"Babylon?" Sonic, Y/N, Amy, and Knuckles questioned.

"Yes; the mark of the Babylon Rogues. A long time ago, there was a floating island known as Babylon Garden. Supposedly, robbers lived there. According to rumors... this "legendary" band, the Babylon Rogues, were great thieves." Tails explained. "Legend also says that the Babylon Rogues incurred the wrath of the Gods because of their crimes, and that the island was cast into the depths of the Earth. After that, supposedly the Babylonians were then scattered for all time, never to be found. But they say that the Babylon Rogue's treasure still remains on that island, waiting to be discovered. There are also rumors that the Babylon Rogues were Extreme Gear specialists."

"Woah..." Y/N awed at the legend.

"Still, how can a plank like that just float?" Knuckles asked in confusion.

"That's easy to explain. According to the Kutta-Joukowski Lift Theorem, the control surface flow is balanced by the inverse kinetics of the--"

Knuckles' eyes start spinning. Y/N silently giggled, knowing that he gets overwhelmed with a long explanation that he clearly doesn't want to hear.

"STOP!! I get it, okay?! It just floats and that's good enough for me!"

"Ah-hahahaha!"

They turned to see Wave as she walks up to them.

"Huh?" Knuckles questioned, turning to her.

"Sorry, but it's just too funny!"

Wave turned to notice Tails holding Sonic's Extreme Gear while Y/N held hers.

"Huh? That Gear's unusual."

"Customized it myself." Tails proudly said.

Wave picks it up. Y/N though noticed that she placed something under Sonic's board as she turns it around, making her narrow her eyes in suspicion.

"Hmm! Hahahahahaha!" she laughed. "Well, I never imagined anyone would enter the race with such a piece of junk. Hahaha!"

Wave hands it back to Tails.

"Thanks though. It was good for a laugh. See ya, shorty!"

Wave walks away. But Y/N was not letting her get away with the insult she gave Tails. So she ran up and stopped in front of her.

"Don't think you can get away with you insulting my friend. Also..." she leans in surprising Wave. "I don't know what you're trying to pull or what you just placed under my brother's board, but there's no way you and your birdies are going to win. We are."

Wave flinched for a moment before she started laughing even harder.

"Man, you sure have a good eye and fiesty! No wonder Jet finds you intriguing."

"Huh? Jet? You mean that green fellow?" Y/N questioned.

"Duh! And I don't know what you're talking about." Wave smirked with a lie. "Wish you could join us. It will be much more fun with you."

With that, she walks past Y/N. She looked to where Wave have gone and scoffed, walking back to her group.

"Oh that girl! Who does she think she is?!" Amy glared.

"Yeah! How can she just walk in and diss Tails?" Sonic agreed.

"I know! And tinkering's all he's really good at, too." Knuckles said.

"She's got a lot of nerve. You okay, Tails?" Y/N turned to him.

Tails, looking in Wave's direction, appears infuriated, surprising her. She then smiled that he's not letting anyone bring him down anymore.

"The next race is about to begin. Please come to the gate, participants!" Speaker said.

Sonic, Y/N, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy all start running to the gate.
