Karamel: A Hero's Journey

IT'S BEEN THREE WEEKS KARA". Snapper spat out.
"I understand, but there hasn't been anything report worthy lately since the child poisoning".
"So make something interesting". Snapper advised, slightly raising his voice. Kara felt the temperature of the room increase,as Snapper left the room, but what she couldn't tell was if it was from snappers frustration or her own.

She walked out of her office; at least snapper had given her an office of her own. Head bent, face scrunched as she analyzed through the Daily Planet mail.
"Oops", "sorry" she professed after accidently bumping into a muscular shoulder.
As she looked up at the man a familiar voice greeted her.
"Oh Hey Kara" the man spoke enthusiastically. "I was just comming to find you".
Kara gasped "oh my.. Rao, James". She invited him in for a hug, which he reciprocated.
"What are you doing here. "I thought you went to visit your sister".
"Oh yeah I did".
"A tall skinny woman appeared behind James' figure appeared to be in a conversation with another woman, she likely just met.
The pretty woman turned around to face Kara.
"Kara this is my sister.." James presented the woman next to him.

"..Kelly, it's nice to meet you finally Kara, from what I hear you and James are good friends".
She held out her hand in greeting.

Kara shook her hand, smiling "yeah me and James are quite close". "And it's nice to meet you too".

"Kara, Kelly is going to be staying here for a while, she is a psychiatrist so here work needs her here because of a patient".
"That's why I am back so soon". "But I'm going back home, I was wondering if Kelly could stay with you until her work here is over, her BnB allocation got cancelled last minute."

"I'd love to but currently I don't think I have space, you see Mon-el came back to stay for good and he has moved in".

James gave Kara a look of shock before it faded into a smile, "that's okay".
"I'll find some place else". Kelly suggested
"Oh wait, my sister Alex, she has an apartment she could probably let you crash there, I'll give her a text".

Kara looked at James with her 'does she know I'm a superhero, look'.
It took him a second before he nodded

"And Kelly if Alex can't accommodate you, you are welcome to crash on my couch as long as you don't mind two people and a puppy".

"Oh, thankyou Kara that's sweet of you" Kelly appreciated Kara's altruism.

They began walking out of Catco together.
"Kara you have a Puppy?" James asked excitedly.

"Yeah, he is a Samoyed".

"I don't think Mon-el is much of a fan however", Kara giggled to herself, before her phone gave off a ping sound that echoed through the elevator they were standing in.

She checked her phone.

3 missed calls ~Lena.

And a text from Mon-el
"I Love Him" it read in block capitals followed by a selfie of Mon-El and the puppy.

"Actually I take that back", she proceeded to show the photo to Kelly and James.
"Aweee", "it's cute". Kelly smiled
"What's its name?" James asked.
"Oh", "undecided", "I told Mon-el to name it". There was an evident glow in Kara's voice when she talked about Mon-El.

Then the elevator doors opened.

They walked out before Lena, who looked somewhat confused.
"Lena, sorry I'm late, I was just catching up with James and meeting his sister,Kelly". Kara spoke apologetically.

"It's okay Kara", "As long as we're still on for lunch".

"James" she held out her hand towards him.
"Lena" he took her hand in his in greeting.
They smiled awkwardly at each other since the end of their relationship was  caused some tension.
She greeted Kelly too.
